Claire Hays, MD, orthopaedic surgeon, has joined the medical staff of the Center for Orthopaedics (CFO).

Originally from Lake Charles, Dr. Hays is a graduate of Barbe High School. She earned an Bachelor of Science degree in biological science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and her Medical Degree from LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Tennessee - Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Hays has been involved in numerous published research projects relating to orthopaedic surgery. She is board-eligible, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

George J. Trappey IV, MD, orthopaedic surgeon, joined the Center for Orthopaedics in 2010.

Originally from New Iberia, Louisiana, Dr. Trappey received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He earned his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Trappey completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went on to complete a fellowship in shoulder and elbow reconstruction surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School.

During his fellowship, Dr. Trappey was involved in many research studies at the Foundation for Orthopedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research in Houston. Dr. Trappey is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
