You don’t have to “push through” pain to make progress.

Listening to your body, taking breaks, and asking for help are all signs of strength — not weakness. Healing happens when movement feels safe, supported, and intentional.

🧠 Wellness Wednesday: Pain vs. Harm

Feeling pain during movement doesn’t always mean you’re causing damage — but it does mean your body is asking for attention.

💡 Here’s the difference:

Discomfort: muscle effort, mild soreness, stretching sensations

Pain: sharp, worsening, or lingering symptoms

The goal of rehab isn’t to avoid movement forever — it’s to find safe, appropriate movement that helps your body get stronger without causing harm.

If something hurts, it’s okay to stop, modify, or ask for guidance. Listening to your body is part of the healing process.

Movement should support your wellness, not set you back 💙

🏃‍♀️ Movement Monday: Single-Leg Hip Thrust

This move is great for building glute strength, hip stability, and protecting your low back — when done correctly and only if you’re able to perform it without pain.

Breakdown:
✔️ Upper back supported on a bench or couch
✔️ One foot planted firmly on the floor
✔️ Other leg lifted and relaxed
✔️ Core gently engaged

The Movement:
➡️ Drive through your heel
➡️ Squeeze your glute as you lift your hips
➡️ Keep ribs down and pelvis level
➡️ Lower with control

Common mistake:
❌ Arching your low back instead of using your glutes

Pro tip:
If this causes pain or discomfort, stop and modify — the double-leg version is a great place to start. Exercises should challenge you, not hurt you.
