As Father’s Day approaches we acknowledge that is isn’t a beautiful day for everyone. We see you. Please take care of yourself and reach out if you need support
Father’s Day can be beautiful, but it can also be incredibly hard.
I’m thinking of the ones who lost their dad. The ones who never knew him. The ones who were abandoned or disowned. I see you.
I’m sending love to the dads who lost their children, who are doing it all on their own, who are trying to stay connected but feel the distance. You matter more than you know.
To those who are adopted or fostered, to the dads who stepped up through adoption or foster care, to the ones raising kids in non-traditional families your love is just as real.
To the ones struggling to become parents, and to the dads living with mental illness, chronic illness, or disability; you are worthy, and you are not forgotten.
You are all seen. You are all valid. You are all deserving of love today.
Father’s Day isn’t just for picture-perfect cards. It’s for the ones carrying grief, heartbreak, and unconditional love in quiet ways too.
