We are excited to begin welcoming participants into our new program, designed specifically for veterans and first responders.

This grant-based program is offered at no cost to participants, to ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of healing. Through therapeutic riding and time spent with our horses, participants are given a space to reconnect and unwind in a supportive environment.

Through The Mane Mission, we’re inviting local businesses to make a meaningful, visible impact in Southwest Louisiana.

A $15,000 annual sponsorship fully covers the care of one horse, including housing, nutrition, veterinary and farrier services, and ongoing wellness needs, ensuring they can continue changing lives every day.

Introducing Second Stride! 🇺🇸🐴

A new chapter of healing at Reins of Hope, designed specifically for veterans and first responders. Through the powerful connection between horse and human, this grant-funded program offers meaningful equine-assisted experiences at no cost to participants.

We are incredibly grateful to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry for supporting this initiative through the Board of Equine Promotion & Research and helping us expand the positive impact of horses in our community.

Enrollment opens April 1st. To ensure each participant receives individualized attention and the highest quality experience, participation opportunities are limited. Early registration is encouraged.

Horses can sleep standing up or lying down, talk about flexible nap schedules! 🐴💤

Thanks to a special system in their legs called the "stay apparatus", horses can lock their joints and doze while standing without falling over. This helps them stay alert and ready to move if needed. When they really need deep, restful sleep (REM sleep), they’ll lie down, usually only when they feel safe and comfortable. Proof that even the best nappers need the right environment to fully relax 💙
