SCAR TISSUE MOBILIZATION: Let’s talk about it
If you’ve had a C-section, your scar is more than skin deep. Underneath, layers of tissue can become restricted, which may impact core function, posture, and how you move and feel day to day.
The good news is gentle scar tissue mobilization can help.
Here is a simple way to start at home once fully healed and cleared by your provider:
• Use clean hands and a small amount of oil
• Start with light pressure around the scar not directly on it at first
• Gently move the skin side to side and up and down
• Progress to small circles then lifting the tissue slightly if comfortable
• Breathe deeply and move slowly this should never be painful
6 + weeks & once cleared: begin directly massaging the scar to improve mobility reduce adhesion and manage numbness.
Most Effective Window Massage is highly effective within the first year but still beneficial even years after surgery
Consistency Aim for 5 to 10 minutes daily for the best results
