The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has strengthened the SFF program—bringing tighter enforcement, greater emphasis on falls and staffing, and clearer expectations for sustained compliance. Facilities that fail to show real improvement may face accelerated penalties and termination, while graduates will be closely monitored for three years.
