The drug overdose epidemic continues to pose a significant threat to public health and safety across the United States. In Louisiana, there were 5,293 emergency department visits related to opioid use disorder in 2025—a decrease of 1,510 from the previous year—showing progress while reinforcing the need for continued action. Additionally, communities across the state collected over 120,054 pounds of unused medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events in 2025, helping to prevent misuse and protect the environment. To support these ongoing efforts, Governor Landry has proclaimed April 25, 2026, as Prescription Drug Take Back Day, encouraging residents to safely dispose of unused medications.

Exciting things are underway at 330 Broad St.! ImCal HSA is proud to partner with Arkel Constructors and Kudla Architecture on the renovation of this downtown Lake Charles landmark. After being displaced from the tower by Hurricane Laura, ImCal’s administrative office and developmental division will finally have a new home. Stay tuned as we share updates along the way!
