Dr Abdel Abushamat has decided to retire on June 30th 2025! He has served the community of Lake Charles tirelessly for many years after founding the Kidney Clinic. We wish him the best for the next phase of his life.

We are pleased to welcome nephrologist, Fahad Lodhi, MD as a new member of the Lake Charles Memorial Health System medical staff.

Dr. Lodhi joins his brother and fellow nephrologist A.A.K Lodhi, MD, along with Abdel F. Abu Shamat, MD and staff treating patients at The Kidney Clinic.

Nephrology

Dr. Fahad Lodhi received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from F.M.H College of Medicine in Pakistan. He then furthered his medical education by completing an Internal Medicine Residency at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Fahad Lodhi continued with a Nephrology Fellowship at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California, where he served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Fahad Lodhi is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in Nephrology.
Dr. Fahad Lodhi will be accepting patient with all insurances at The Kidney Clinic LLC. He will be making rounds at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Christus Ochsner St Patrick Hospital, Christus Ochsner Lake Area hospital, West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur and Cornerstone Hospital. He will also see patients at all dialysis facilities in Lake Charles, Sulphur, Jennings and Deridder.

The Kidney Clinic Family is very Happy to welcome a new member to our family. Dr Fahad Lodhi will be joining Dr. Abu Shamat, Dr. Ahad Lodhi, M. Hebert NP, L. Leslie NP and A. Pitre NP.
