Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics announces that the Stewart Memorial Auxiliary has donated $27,955 to the Obstetrics Department. The contribution was raised through proceeds from the annual Trivia Night, held on February 21, 2026.

This generous donation will support enhanced patient care, updated resources, and expanded services for mothers and newborns. It also finalizes the Auxiliary’s total fundraising goal of $47,955.71.

In honor of National Volunteer Month, we’re proud to recognize Joyce Schleisman for her incredible dedication to Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics.

Since 2020, Joyce has made a meaningful impact through her leadership, service, and passion for giving back. Alongside her husband Jerry, she has helped support events like Swinging for Patients and Trivia Night, bringing our community together in support of local healthcare.

In recognition of National Donate Life Month, Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics honored the gift of life by asking: Why did you choose to become an organ donor?

The responses shared by our team were deeply personal and inspiring, highlighting the profound impact that organ, eye, and tissue donation can have on individuals and families. From personal experiences to connections with loved ones, each story reflected a strong sense of compassion, purpose, and commitment to helping others.

Throughout April, Stewart Memorial also hosted educational outreach efforts to raise awareness about the ongoing need for donors. Informational resource tables were available at the Lake City Clinic and hospital, providing guidance and encouraging meaningful conversations about donation and registration. Employees further showed their support by participating in Blue and Green Day on April 10.

We are proud to recognize the generosity and compassion of our staff, who are dedicated to caring for others both in their work and through the lasting impact of organ donation.
