As healthcare professionals we become…….fixers. You have a cut - we fix it. You have pneumonia- we fix it. You have a heart attack- we fix it.

What we can’t fix - overwhelming pain felt by someone who tragically loses someone they love from RAIN..?!?!

Our desire is to reach out and say the right words…… to gift the right amount, of the right things.

None of that will help people who have lost their children, or children who have lost their parents.

What we can do - is let them know- we are here! We love you! We loved them! Tell us what you need! We are praying for all of you and are here….tell us what you need.

In the mean time, we will continue to mourn and pray and hope, for all you affected by the flooding in Texas this week. If you need us, if you need any thing- we are here - 940-535-5296.

So talented! We are proud of you both, Olivia and Aiden!!

At Monday night's regular monthly meeting of the LDISD Board of Trustees, we recognized two outstanding Lake Dallas High School Vocalist- Aiden Arredondo and Olivia Reyes!
Olivia and Aidan earned their places in the coveted All-State Choir! This is the first time in Lake Dallas history that the choir has had this level of success in the TMEA All-State process!

Beginning each fall, over 70,000 high school students across the state audition in their TMEA Region. Individuals perform selected music for a panel of judges who rank each instrument or voice part. A select group of musicians advances to compete against musicians from other Regions in their TMEA Area. The highest-ranking musicians judged at the TMEA Area competitions qualify to perform in one of the Texas All-State ensembles sponsored by the instrumental and vocal divisions. These All-State students participate in multiple days of rehearsals during the annual state TMEA Convention in San Antonio, and their performances before thousands of attendees bring this extraordinary event to a close.

Please congratulate Olivia Reyes, 2nd chair alto, and Aidan Arredondo, 5th chair bass, for their groundbreaking achievement!

Thank you to everyone who has shown so much support to our sweet, Chere during the past 6 months of chemo therapy and treatments for breast cancer! Your support at our fundraiser in the fall raised over $10,000 to help her through the next stage of this journey. She has completed chemotherapy and on Monday, February 24th she will have a double mastectomy to finish off what we hope will be the end of “the hard stuff”. As long as her surgery goes well and her lymph nodes remain clear, she will continue with immunotherapy monthly for around a year.

Over the next few weeks we ask that everyone who has her personal number refrain from using it as she will be taking this time to heal and rest. She will reach out as she feels better. I will post updates here and again thank you all for being so suppprtive through this journey! Prayers for the surgeons and care team on Monday, prayers for healing and especially for lymph nodes that are free and clear of cancer are greatly appreciated.

We are hosting a fundraiser for Chere Barboza to help in her battle to fight breast cancer! Anyone who knows Chere Barboza is aware of her continuing love and support to others. She is a true care giver to everyone around her! Lets show her some love and care as we celebrate her strength and courage on November 16th from 11:00-2:00 pm at 503 Main Street, Lake Dallas Texas! The event will be held at Lake Dallas Family Medicine, PLLC and Green Eagle Roofing and Construction (the site of the old Duck Inn Catfish building in Lake Dallas).
