BIG NEWS at Steady Strides! 🎉

I’m officially a SoftSpot provider!👶🏼

Until now, measuring head shape meant calipers, tape measures and goniometers… which are only so accurate with a wiggly baby. Even done carefully, these readings aren’t always as consistent as we would like.

SoftSpot takes the wiggles out of it!

All November long, we’ve been collecting Community Wishes to support a local family in need.

Play-Based Therapy at Steady Strides 🐢💛
Play-based therapy is a child-centered approach that infuses purposeful play to promote motor development, strength, and coordination in a way that feels natural and enjoyable for the child. Rather than following rigid exercises, the therapist intentionally designs the environment and activities to encourage movement through child-led exploration — letting curiosity guide each session.

Every game, toy, and activity is purposefully adapted to promote functional play that targets specific therapeutic goals, all while keeping kids motivated, confident, and engaged.

Bridging is one of my favorite pre-walking activities! It helps little ones build strength in their legs and core while practicing balance and coordination needs for independent walking!

Here’s how to try it at home:
👉 Set up two stable surfaces (like a couch + coffee table or a bench + chair) at your child’s chest height.
👉 Place them close enough so your child can touch both at once.
👉 Add toys of interest on each side to encourage back-and-forth play - think animals hiding in a barn 🐮, coins in a piggy bank 🐷, or toys “jumping” across.
👉 As your child gains confidence, slowly widen the gap between the surfaces until they’re taking several steps in between! 🐢💛

This simple, playful setup builds the balance, confidence, and strength kids need for those exciting first steps!

I’m so honored to serve on the Board of Directors for 💙! A huge thank you to the founders, Hailey Witzel and Jen B***r, their loving family, and supportive friends who work tirelessly to host the golf tournament and gala each year.

Because of their vision and the generosity of so many donors, $212,000 was raised this year to directly help 19 families impacted by congenital heart disease (CHD)!💛

It’s inspiring to see what can be accomplished when a community comes together with love and purpose. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who continues to support this mission. Together, we are truly making a difference! ❤️

Hi friends! I’m here to reintroduce myself!
I’m Anne Voss, MPT-- founder of Steady Strides Pediatric Physical Therapy in Lake Elmo, MN!
Helping children move, grow, and thrive has been my passion since I became a pediatric physical therapist in 1999. Over the years, I’ve pursued advanced training in torticollis and plagiocephaly management, reflex and sensory integration, early intervention gait, TASES, and Kinesiotaping, which gives me a unique perspective in treating infants and children.

I specialize in motor development for both typically developing children and those with neurological, orthopedic, or genetic conditions. I believe every child moves at their own pace, and some just need a little extra support to achieve their motor milestones. My goal is to build strong and STEADY foundational skills so little ones can make big STRIDES toward independence.

Every child holds a special place in my heart, and I would be honored to help your little one grow into a confident, independent mover!

You and your family have shown incredible grit and perseverance, never giving up. One of your big goals was to walk by your 2nd birthday, and you did it!
