In addition to the burned paws, running and even just walking in the heat can lead to heat stroke. Try to go out early AM or evening instead.
Remember- dogs don’t sweat like we do and they have a much harder time cooling off when it’s hot.

He delivered mail to Floyd’s house for years — and when no one else came for him, he did. ❤️🚨

When Floyd’s owner passed away, this sweet dog ended up at the Denton Animal Shelter — confused, grieving, and alone.

But Floyd wasn’t forgotten.

Ian, the longtime mail carrier for Floyd and his late owner, had been part of their daily routine for years.
He’d watched Floyd grow up — and the moment he heard what happened, Ian rushed to the shelter and adopted him.

Now Floyd is back in a home filled with love — with someone familiar who truly cares. 💌🐾

It’s a powerful reminder: sometimes heroes wear mailbags.
And sometimes second chances come with a knock at the door.

Stories like this are why I’ll always believe in the goodness of people — and the bond we share with our animals. 🐶❤️

Gotta love those Ginger kitties!

The unforgettable Orangey (1950–1967), the most accomplished cat actor in Hollywood history—a true thespian with a résumé that outshines many human stars. Trained by legendary animal handler Frank Inn (who also worked with Benji and Arnold the Pig from Green Acres), Orangey wasn’t just a talented performer—he was a two-time Patsy Award winner (the animal equivalent of an Oscar), making him the only cat to ever achieve such an honor.

Orangey’s filmography is nothing short of iconic. He brought quiet intensity to Raymond Burr’s sci-fi classic The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), lent poignant realism to The Diary of Anne Frank (1959), and stole scenes as “Cat” (the “poor slob without a name”) in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), lounging alongside Audrey Hepburn in one of cinema’s most beloved moments. But his career didn’t stop there—Orangey capped off his legendary run in 1967 as Eartha Kitt’s sly feline companion in two episodes of Batman, purring his way into pop culture history as the perfect sidekick to TV’s most iconic Catwoman.

Known for his striking marmalade coat and unflappable professionalism, Orangey worked with Hollywood’s biggest stars, navigating complex sets with remarkable patience—a rarity for a cat actor. Unlike many animal performers, he wasn’t easily distracted, earning a reputation as one of the most reliable (and well-paid) feline stars of his era.

After a 17-year career, Orangey passed away in 1967, leaving behind a legacy as Tinseltown’s greatest cat actor. Fittingly, he was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood, a final resting place befitting a true star. As we celebrate International Cat Day, let’s remember Orangey’s unmatched contributions to film and TV—proof that some legends really do have nine lives.

“A cat’s got his own opinion of human beings. He don’t say much, but he’s heard it all.” —Mark Twain (a sentiment Orangey surely would’ve approved of). 🐈🎬

Gone, But Not Forgotten
by Michael Joseph

Written to Charles, a Siamese Cat
(June 1930 - December 1942)

I shall walk in the sun alone
Whose golden light you loved;
I shall sleep alone
And, stirring, touch an empty place:
I shall write uninterrupted
(Would that your gentle paw
Could stay my moving pen just once again!)

I shall see beauty
But none to match your living grace;
I shall hear music
But not so sweet as the droning sound
With which you loved me.

I shall fill my days
But I shall not, cannot forget;
Sleep soft, dear friend,
For while I live you shall not die.

The great things that get uncovered during a renovation. The guys found this in the attic while building up the rafters for the new exam room. It’s probably around 60-65 years old- based on the 1959 dedication plaque on the front of the hospital.
