Many ask about my wellness coaching practice and Teambeachbody coaching, here's my story, this is tough for me to read and you may shed some tears too as many of you were affected by these chain of events. I will remind you that we all have a past and hope that we all have learned life lessons along the way. I certainly have. I'm not here to sell you anything but the idea of making healthy changes and I would LOVE to help you. This is in my heart, this is who I am, just Tammy with a past too, I can relate to many trials and tribulations, coaching will make you a stronger, happier person and me a stronger coach. People that know me would say I am spiritual, adore my family, love animals and have a real zest for life. Before becoming a coach, I worked for over 20 years with various small businesses working as a bookkeeper and an office manager. With the diversity of the companies that I have worked with all had many things in common such as stress and financial ups and downs. Working on the management and accounting end of these businesses I was privy to the financial health of these organizations. Life is an amazing journey and we all have a very unique story. My life has indeed been grand. Unfortunately in December 2008, I lost my younger brother, Steven Vaughn to an accidental drug overdose. His death caused a stir and was very public. In April 2009, I lost my long love, Mark Miller to a motorcycle accident and in January 2010 we lost Mark's brother in a snowmobile accident. We were all devastated. Many of us on here grew up together, we lived FAST and at times furious. It was time to slow down, time to become healthier. Being a parent I had NO choice but to remain strong. Samantha, Dakota & Sahara, my beloved children have given me strength through everything that comes my way. We all had learned life lessons and the above-mentioned chain of events certainly changed who I am today. During that time were more, our Grandma Bernie, other friends, it was a hard time for all. In January 2011, I saw an advertisement for an introductory health and wellness seminar. I had heard of health and wellness coaches and was intrigued to learn more. During the seminar I had no question in my mind that this was the field of study that I wanted to pursue. This was my calling and this has forever changed who I am. In February 2011, I signed up for classes at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. At that time this program was the ONLY wellness coaching program that was accredited through colleges in the United States. I couldn’t earn my certificate fast enough and decided to double up on classes as Dr. Frank Ardito said, "Tammy you are golden". While attending these classes I networked, made friends and found some amazing mentors that have helped to guide me along the way. A fellow classmate introduced me to Team Beachbody and I will discuss Beachbody products more in depth later. I earned credentials which included my certification for First Aid/CPR through the American Red Cross, my Certified Wellness Advocate (CWA) certificate through the College of Lake County and finally my certified coach credential through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). I leased an office in my hometown of Lake Forest, IL in the spring of 2014 and in August 2014 I proudly earned my certificate as Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) and Certified Wellness Advocate (CWA). Currently I am still working with the small businesses who are my second family, doing bookkeeping/office work. Wellness coaching is typically scheduled Mon-Thurs early am or later in the day. Fridays we are open all day and Saturdays by appointment only. We host free fitness challenges, wellness workshops, Dave Ramsey classes and more. Beachbody has been a way of life for me since becoming a coach in 2013. I love this companies model, they do not sell products on the shelf as all customers are assigned a coach. Beachbody coaches will be there to help you achieve your health and fitness goals and their network of information and support is amazing. The beauty of Beachbody is you may workout ion the comfort of your home and most workouts are available on On Demand and take somewhere around 30 mins per day. With Beachbody I've made many new friends. I've learned from fellow coaches and have been motivated by their achievements. Once I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in March 2015 I've had my own share of struggles in this area but with Beachbody I'm always always in the healthy mindset. We motivate each other.
