Blossoms, colors and the freshness of April's showers that grow May's flowers are what we celebrated all week. Spring is such a vibrant time a year, so in that spirit we brought in two entertainers this week to share in our excitment for the season with Ted Yoder playing his hammered dulcimer and Tom Valentyn tickling the ivories to Billy Joel’s best piano variations. A hearty thunderclap to both for putting that extra spring our step this week! 🌦️🌷😍

We hopped to it this week in celebration of Easter starting with a visit from the Easter Bunny who handed out all the adopt-a-grandparent baked treats from Blackbird Bakery in Burlington. We can't thank everyone at the Blackbird Bakery community enough for their wonderful generosity! The best treats from very talented bakers. ❤️😋

We also got things shaking with the King himself who entertained us all with gospel songs as we danced in our seats. Shout out to Elvis (aka Alan Graveen) for always bringing his best to every occasion here at Arbor Village and Village Glen. We love us some Elvis in the building!

The first pitch, the crack of the bat and complaining about the ump, our nation's pastime is in full swing. Bring on the warming days and good natured rivalries as we cheer on the teams we love. Baseball is back. Play ball! ⚾

And the Oscar for the Best Picture goes to...well, with so many great photos the voters are having a hard time choosing a winner as we honor the Academy Awards at Arbor Village and Village Glen. One thing is for certain, we rolled out the red carpet to celebrate while singing along to Carolyn Wehner performing all movie songs! A special thank you to our award winning staff for directing so many great snap shots of everyone. Enjoy the show, and comment on which one you pick for Best Picture! 🏆 😀

This week is Long Term Care Administrators week, and all our staff and residents at Arbor Village and Village Glen are celebrating our Administrator, Andy Kerwin!

Andy is a leader who doesn’t just manage a facility but cultivates a community and a true sense of home for all of us. With an open-door policy, Andy interacts with all staff, residents, and families daily.

Andy also wears as many hats as needed, having been known to scrub floors, jump in the kitchen and cook, do dishes, be a hands-on caregiver, and engage in activities with the residents, all the while finding time to take care of his management responsibilities.

In addition to all he does here at Arbor Village and Village Glen, he finds time to be a part of the Walworth County Transportation Committee and Dementia Friendly Community Initiative. You may have also seen him delivering Meals on Wheels or at the corn stand at Venetian Fest with the Lake Geneva Lions Club.

Andy doesn’t just give his all to us here at Arbor Village and Village Glen, but he also gives back to so many in the Lake Geneva Community.

We are honored, proud, and thankful to not only call Andy our Administrator, but also a dear friend. 🙏 ❤️

Nǐ hǎo! We celebrated the Chinese New Year this week at Village Glen, which began on Tuesday February 17th and goes until February 5th 2027. This marks the Year of the Fire Horse representing hard work, bravery, and resilience, with fire meaning energy and passion. With decorations and songs of love to represent the color red sang by Carolyn Wehner we rang in with thoughts of what the new year will bring!
