The Su***de Prevention Training Institute was honored to participate in the Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Defender 2.2 Mile Ruck/Walk & 5.5k on June 7th 2025. The Foundation hosted its annual event, a powerful community gathering to honor the life and legacy of Marine Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt, who tragically lost his life to su***de in November 2021.

The Foundation honors Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt by supporting our military heroes and forges hope for those who serve. Through its focus on mental health, nurturing future leaders, and preventing military su***de, the Foundation carries forward Sgt. Muhlstadt's legacy of service, character, leadership, and love of country.

We were honored to have two participants who are volunteers in support of CPT(R) James Van Thach, Purple Heart Recipient and Su***de Prevention Advocate in attendance at the Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Foundation’s 2-day ASIST Workshop facilitated by the Su***de Prevention Training Institute.

SPTI Partners with the Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Foundation

The Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Foundation sponsored a 2-day Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Workshop for the B/35th Signal Company in Aguidilla PR. SPTI was honored to facilitate the Workshop. The participants learned life-saving su***de prevention “first-aid” tools to recognize thoughts of su***de, have a conversation with a person having thoughts of su***de, and keeping that person safe for now. The goal is to provide these life-saving skills to decrease su***de attempts and deaths.

We’re excited to share that right before the holiday our Executive Director, TC Copper was honored as a Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero! Along with this award, SPTI has received a grant to further our mission of su***de prevention and education. We are honored to share this with Love IV Lawrence and the Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Foundation.

TC’s dedication to saving lives and educating has inspired so many people. This recognition not only celebrates his work but also highlights the vital importance of su***de prevention.
Thank you to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation for supporting our mission.
