Every year on the first Sunday in May, today, International Bereaved Mother’s Day honors mothers who have lost a child. It’s also a day to recognize women who cannot be a mother due to infertility or other health reasons.

Today is World Prematurity Day. 1 in 10 babies are born too soon (before 37 weeks).

Mamas, were any of your babies born prematurely? We'd love to hear about them and see pictures!

We know that not every baby makes it home after being born early, so we want to make sure to celebrate and remember ALL our premies today.

During this month of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness, we remember and are thinking about those grieving.

October is Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month. In 2012, we heartbreakingly lost our first baby. I was (and still am) so blessed to be surrounded by love and support. I slowly started to look at my pregnancy with gratitude for the time I had with my baby, for the opportunity to be a mother, and for the limitless love I gained from carrying my little one. My experience brought me to my volunteer work as a bereavement doula. Work that is so difficult and heartbreaking, but also so important and needed. I am honored to witness the love of so many families and their precious babies, and to hold space for their grieving hearts. Society doesn't talk about pregnancy and infant loss much, and many families suffer in silence. This month, let us break the silence. Share your story, show your support, give a hug, reach out to someone.

If you are looking for a source of support, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to share resources with you. You are also welcome to join my support group, no matter where you live. We hold virtual support group meetings monthly.
