This gentle morning yoga practice was filmed on the beach in the Bahamas and is meant to help you begin the day slowly, with ease.

The movements are simple and unhurried, just enough to wake up the body without pushing or rushing. Throughout the practice, you’ll be guided to let the exhale become a little longer than the inhale, creating a naturally slowed, steady rhythm to the breath.

There’s no breath holding or forcing. Instead, the longer exhale invites a subtle sense of pause and spaciousness before the next inhale arrives on its own.

You may notice:

Your breath gradually slowing

Your body feeling less braced and more supported

A quieter, steadier energy to start the day

This practice is supportive if you’re feeling tired, tender, or simply craving a calm, grounded beginning. You’re welcome to move gently, rest whenever you need, or simply breathe and listen.

Wednesday nights are shifting into something a little softer.

Easy Seat is a weekly, come-as-you-are gathering to land midweek and spend some time together. We’ll start the way we do in yoga — by arriving — and then we’ll simply be together for the hour. Hands busy, attention easy.

You’re welcome to doodle, journal, crochet, write, color, snack, chat, or stay quiet. No experience needed. Nothing to get right.

For February, we’ll loosely hold the theme of Hope, echoing the upcoming community art show Iterations of Hope at the Arts Nest. The theme is there as a gentle thread — not a requirement.

Wednesdays · 6:30–7:30 PM

🌊 New Gentle Morning Yoga Practice 🌊

I just shared a 40-minute gentle morning yoga practice filmed on the beach in the Bahamas.

This is a slow, steady class with simple movement and plenty of space to breathe — just enough to wake up the body without rushing or pushing. Throughout the practice, we let the exhale become a little longer than the inhale, helping the breath and nervous system naturally settle.

It was recorded outdoors in an open beach setting, where natural sounds and a little bit of life happening are part of the experience.

If you’re craving a calm start to your day, this one is here for you.

✨ Gentle. Grounded. No fixing required. ✨

I just shared a new gentle sunset yoga practice, created for moments when life is shifting and you can feel it in your body.

This class is slow, grounding, and soft. There’s nothing to fix or figure out, just space to settle, breathe, and land right where you are.

And a little heads up…

Starting in February, I’ll be sharing a new series of Lunch Break Pause Meditations, short, grounding practices designed to help you reset in the middle of your day (or anytime you need a pause).

Think:

permission to do nothing

nervous system resets

simple moments of calm you can return to again and again

More on that soon, but for now, let this sunset practice be a place to land

Yoga for Life Transitions; A Gentle Sunset Practice 🌅

This class was recorded at sunset on our last evening in the Bahamas, a moment that naturally asked for slowing down and staying present.

This gentle practice is for times of change, when the mind drifts between what’s ending and what’s ahead. The movement is slow and simple, with plenty of space to pause, rest, and breathe. Less effort, more listening.

If you’re feeling tender, reflective, or a little unsteady, this class offers a place to land.

You don’t need to fix anything.
You don’t need clarity.
Just a willingness to be here, exactly as you are.

I wanted to share something special with you.

While we’re away, I’ve been recording a few gentle classes to keep us connected, and this one came straight from real life. We spent a full day snorkeling yesterday, and this morning we woke up sore, stiff, and definitely not in the mood for anything intense… but also knowing that a little movement would help.

So this class was born.

This is a 40-minute gentle yoga practice for when you’re sore, tired, and don’t really feel like moving, but know your body would feel better if you did. There’s lots of space for modifications, pausing, skipping things altogether, and listening closely to what you need. No pushing. No expectations. Just enough movement to feel better.

If you’ve been feeling achy, low-energy, or like your body wants kindness more than effort, this one’s for you.

Here’s the class:

Online Yoga Series: Hips & the Kleshas

For the rest of January, our live online classes will gently focus on hip opening and exploration of the kleshas, the habitual patterns that shape how we move, feel, and respond to life.

The hips are often a place where we hold tension, memory, and emotion. Through mindful movement, breath, and reflection, we’ll explore how working with the body can help soften these deeper patterns with curiosity and compassion.

Classes are live on Zoom and open to all levels.
Come as you are, move at your own pace, and stay connected to your practice wherever you are.

I wanted to take a moment to share an update about February at Yoga by the Lake, and to do so with care.

We’ll be taking a pause from in-person classes for the month of February, with our regular schedule returning in March. I know that any change in routine can feel disappointing or unsettling, and I want you to know that this decision wasn’t made lightly.

This practice and this community mean so much to me. At the same time, February feels like a moment to honor the quieter side of winter, to rest, reset, and tend to what supports a sustainable, long-term practice for all of us, myself included.

To stay connected during this pause, I’ll be offering new free online yoga classes and meditations throughout February. My hope is that these classes can feel like a gentle thread of continuity, something supportive and available, without pressure or expectation. I’ll be sharing more details soon.

Because of this shift, I’ve also decided to move our Paint & Pause ‘Brunch’ to March 15th I was truly touched by the interest in it, and I want to offer that experience with the time, presence, and creative energy it deserves.

I’ve shared a new guided meditation inspired by yoga philosophy and the klesha Avidya — the moments when we may be seeing ourselves through an outdated or untrue story.

This gentle practice is an invitation to stop trying to fix anything and simply listen to the body as it is. It’s slow, grounding, and nature-inspired — created as an accessible offering for anyone needing a little clarity or softness right now.

I hope this practice meets you where you are.

I’m also really looking forward to being together this Saturday at 9:30am in the studio, as we continue exploring the kleshas in our practice. It feels grounding to stay with this work, noticing, softening, and bringing curiosity to what’s present, as we move toward a more reflective season.

Thank you to everyone who joined me on January 1st for The Year I Choose Myself workshop here at the studio.

Starting the year together, with intention, honesty, creativity, and care, felt incredibly meaningful. Showing up on New Year’s Day is no small thing. It’s a quiet, powerful choice to pause, reflect, and turn toward yourself with curiosity instead of pressure.

Thank you for your openness, your presence, your willingness to slow down, and for sharing that space so generously with one another. These moments remind me why I do this work, because when we choose ourselves, even gently, something real shifts.

I’m so grateful to have begun the year with you. ✨

12/29/2025

I have 2 spots left for our New Year’s Day workshop on January 1st at 4:30 PM, and I’d love to open them to anyone who feels called.

This is a soft, grounding way to begin the year, with gentle movement, breath, and a simple creative ritual to help you choose your year with intention, not pressure. It’s not about resolutions or fixing yourself. It’s about settling in, listening, and starting the year feeling steady and supported.

If you’ve been craving a moment of calm, clarity, or a meaningful pause before the year takes off, this space is for you.

Come exactly as you are.
Reach out to save one of the remaining spots. 💛
