Update on the vandalism at the Alden B. Dow Office Museum:
We are so excited to let you all know that we have received wonderful news from two amazing businesses in our area. Funes Paint Services and Sherwin-Williams have graciously offered to repaint the exterior of the Alden B. Dow Office Museum at no cost to us! Thank you so much to you both for your generosity and your commitment to helping us preserve our local history!!
We work hard every day to serve our community, and we are so touched when our community steps up to help us. We are also so thankful to those of you who have made your own donations to us to help. We are still working on getting a security system installed, and as mentioned previously, any donations that are made to us above and beyond these costs will be put towards all of the other programming and exhibits we put on throughout the year to celebrate Lake Jackson's unique and important history.
One of our big fall events will be taking place tomorrow, Saturday 10/21, at the Historical Museum at 249 Circle Way. Join us as we celebrate Dia de los Mu***os! Bring the whole family to enjoy folklorico dancer performances from 11am-12pm, recognition of the sugar skull decorating competition winners at 2pm, plus crafts, food trucks, face painting, and more from 10am-4pm. We'll see you there! Let's celebrate our amazing community together!
