I began working at the Northeast Center as a Unit Clerk in March of this year and have loved every moment! I got my start in healthcare working as an all-purpose intern at a Nursing/Rehabilitation Center in 2020 and worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. During that time, I saw everything from tragedy to triumph and was astonished at the resilience of healthcare workers. I realized that my heart lies in healthcare because despite the unending stress and hurdles, when I leave for the day, I feel satisfied if I was able to brighten at least one person's day. It was during my orientation at the Northeast Center that I became overwhelmed with excitement and passion to work for a facility that is clearly a beloved home to many individuals who have faced hardships in life that I cannot fathom. It is inspiring to simply be in the presence of such tenacious human beings with unique stories. I am a vocal mental health advocate and recognize the imperative need to integrate genuine empathy into any care given to our neighbors. My favorite part of working at the Northeast Center is connecting with both the neighbors and their families and providing emotional support in whatever way I can. I am most grateful for the family of staff here at NEC who have proven that no problem will go unsolved when we work together. In my free time I enjoy singing choral and jazz music, spending time with my dog Arthur, kayaking, hiking, and beekeeping. I am very passionate about the connection between nature and neurorehabilitation, and my dream is to one day found my own mental health practice that utilizes activities like beekeeping and gardening as therapy modalities specifically for Veterans with PSTD. I very am proud to be a part of the NEC family!
We are so proud to have you as apart of our team!
