It’s National Volunteer Week! We’re so grateful for the incredible volunteers at TenBroeck who give their time, kindness, and connection to our residents every day.

A special thank you to our longtime volunteers. Kent and Cynthia, both with us since 2015, and Ed, who has been volunteering since 2013. We’re also happy to welcome Diane, who recently joined us and is already making a difference in the Powder Box- she says she loves it!

From helping residents get to events to offering one-on-one companionship, our volunteers truly make a difference. We appreciate you!

April 11th is National Therapy Dog Appreciation Day, and here at TenBroeck, we have a very special reason to celebrate! 🐾
We want to give a massive shout-out to our favorite four-legged friend, Jefferson. (A member of Therapy Dogs International). For the past three years, Jefferson has been a constant source of joy, wagging his way through our halls every single week, led by his mom & our neighbor, Liz.
Just today, Jefferson completed his 214th visit.
Whether he’s offering a quiet nuzzle or a happy tail wag, Jefferson has a unique way of brightening everyone's day. Residents on all units recognize him the moment he walks through the door and eagerly look forward to their "Jefferson time” each week.
The benefits of therapy dogs are numerous, and research has shown that interacting with therapy dogs can have a positive impact on mental and physical health. Studies have shown that therapy dogs can help: lower blood pressure, reduce oxytocin (the feel-good hormone) reducing anxiety and depression, along with improving overall mood.
Thank you, Jefferson, for three years of smiles and pure joy! 🐕🦴
