MEDICATION TECHNICIAN (Behavioral Tech, Mental Health Tech, Direct Support Staff)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are an upscale 6-bed adult mental health residential treatment program in West L.A. (close to UCLA). Our clients enter our program for intensive group / individual therapy and medication management. While working toward individualized goals, the clients improve life skills and interpersonal communication, so they can return to purposeful engagement with home, family, and employment.
We are seeking a qualified individual who has at least 1 year of mental health residential facility experience in a management/leadership role.
This is not a substance abuse facility. We are purely mental health. Typical diagnosis is depression, anxiety, delusional disorders, and bipolar disorder. We do not admit anyone violent or actively psychotic.
The candidate must be able to pass a Live Scan background check as required to work in mental health programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Management/leadership experience in a mental/behavioral health residential program
-A kind, patient, non-confrontational demeanor to handle staff and client stressors with tact and poise
-Self-motivated, organized individual with excellent follow-through skills
-Intermediate computer skills i.e. document development, google drive, electronic health records, digital organization for document uploads etc...
-Prior experience scheduling, training new staff, and being a staff resource
Able to multi-task and anticipate facility and staff needs
-Must be able to take direction from the medical and therapeutic team and deliver action plan in a timely manner
-Must be able to display calming leadership strategies while also being a team-player
-Must have experience with de-escalation processes and conflict resolution
-Must have experience with medication administration and documentation procedures
OTHER SKILLS
-Prior experience facilitating group sessions
-Caregiving / support staff experience
-Activity / past-time planner/scheduler

-Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift (8am-4:30pm)
Monday to Friday
On call
Overtime
Ability to commute/relocate:
Los Angeles, CA 90049: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
residential facility operations/leadership in mental health: 1 year (Required)
