ENT services include: hearing and balance testing, hearing aid dispensing, allergy testing and treatment, speech therapy, voice evaluation, swallowing evaluation, facial plastic surgery, thyroid, sleep concerns, vocal cord nodules, etc. The practice provides audiology services for both Hearing and Balance concerns. The practice’s clinical staff also includes speech therapists for voice and swallowing concerns, and allergy nurses to counsel on allergy related concerns.

Allergy drops or (SLIT) are a form of immunotherapy that is offered at Atlantic ENT. The drops are able to be self-administered at home, and are a convenient alternative to weekly in-office visits for allergy injections. If your doctor recommends allergy drops, a custom solution will be prepared for you in a dropper vial. Your drops will be customized according to the number of things you are allergic to. Our licensed R.N. have vast experience in allergy avoidance and management strategies. They can share information, as well as provide education on possible treatment options as recommended by the doctors. If you elect to pursue allergy drops, they will check in with you and monitor your progress.

A flexible laryngoscopy might take as little as 10 minutes, but each person’s laryngoscopy may be slightly different. The patient is sprayed with a numbing medication and a nasal decongestant beforehand for comfort. These may have a bitter taste or make your throat feel unusual. Are you using your nasal spray correctly? The spray should not drip from your nose or down the back of your throat, If you taste it, you're wasting it!

Gently blow your nose to clear it of mucus before using the medicine. Remove the cap. Shake the bottle. The first time you use the pump spray each day, you may have to “prime” it, squirting a few times into the air until a fine mist comes out. Tilt your head forward slightly. Hold the pump bottle with your thumb at the bottom and your index and middle fingers on top. Squeeze the pump as you begin to breathe in slowly through your nose. Repeat these steps for the other nostril. Try not to sneeze or blow your nose just after using the spray. Use your medicines just the way your provider tells you. Most nasal sprays work best when used regularly and consistently!

Atlantic Ear, Nose & Throat offers Videonystagmography testing (VNG) which is a non-invasive exam that assesses the vestibular, or balance, system. It is administered by an audiologist. The VNG provides us with a great deal of useful information about your vestibular system. After the VNG, our providers analyze your results to determine and diagnose the overall health and function of your vestibular system. Our providers will also use your VNG results to help determine an appropriate treatment approach.
