It's LUMINATIONS® Tip Thursday, and we're looking at the 4 R's of Dementia Care! 💜

This week, we're focusing on Reconsider.

The second R, Reconsider, reminds us to pause and look at a situation from the perspective of our residents. In our LUMINATIONS® memory care program, our trained staff understands that behaviors are often a direct result of cognitive changes—not intentional actions.

By taking the time to understand the potential triggers behind a resident's behavior, we can find meaningful solutions and create personalized approaches that support their well-being with care and dignity. This approach is integrated into all of our Grand Living programs, helping us to better serve our residents.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Mardaly's passion for hospitality began with her family, who instilled in her the values of community, compassion, and service. She has since built a successful career, bringing years of experience from her time at Darden Restaurants, where she honed her skills and leadership.

🌟 It’s been a busy and exciting time here at Grand Living! 🌟

Our residents have been enjoying a variety of fun and engaging programs:
🌪️ Seminole County Emergency Management stopped by to share important tips on emergency and hurricane preparedness.
🎨 Donna hosted a wonderful painting class where residents created beautiful floral artwork on canvas.
⚾ Paul brought the Traveling History Museum and showcased his amazing collection of baseball memorabilia.
🪴Everly After Gardens held a successful plant and foliage sale—so many green thumbs in our community!
📚 Seminole County Library set up a pop-up shop, and residents picked out some fantastic new books to enjoy.

We also had a great day out and about! 🚌
🍔 We had a delicious lunch at Ford’s Garage,
🛍️ Did a little retail therapy at the Tanger Outlets,
🍬 And made a sweet stop at Buc-ee’s for some tasty treats!

We love keeping our residents active, connected, and having fun. More adventures coming soon
