we don’t just experience the present moment
we experience it through what we remember

these impressions shape how we move, react, and respond

this week we’re exploring strength —
not just in the body, but in awareness

in the yoga sutras, 1.11 describes memory as
past experiences that continue to live within us

which means what we’re feeling now
is often layered with what has already been

the practice isn’t to get rid of that
but to notice it

to recognize what’s coming from memory
and what’s actually here

and maybe, with that awareness,
choose something different 🤍

You don’t need more information—you need a way to actually do the work 🤍

If you’ve read the books, saved the posts, and still feel stuck in the same patterns, this workshop is for you.

We’ll gently move through 4 stages of inner child reparenting:
Recognize, Reflect, Regulate, Reparent.

So you can begin shifting old emotional patterns and feel more steady in yourself—moment to moment.

We have a lost & found at the studio 🤍

If you’re missing something, it may be here waiting for you.

We completely understand how easy it is for things to get left behind. Items are donated on the first of each month, so please feel free to take a look anytime before then.

extended side angle, built from the ground up

this week we’re focusing on foundation
coming back to the basics of how a pose is set up

your feet create the base
your arms create length
your chest creates space

when the foundation is there, everything else has something to build from

it’s not about how deep you go
it’s about how you arrive there

this is where the practice starts—one piece at a time ✨

something special is happening at Yoga Onyx.

a sacred space.
a unique flow.
a powerful heat.

our studio is designed for presence, not performance.

move with your breath, flow at your own pace and experience the warmth of infrared heat.

your mat is waiting.

if your practice has felt a little off lately…

you’re not the only one

it’s easy to think you need to do more
be more consistent
get back to where you were

but this month isn’t about that

it’s about coming back to the practice in a different way

slowing down
building strength
softening where you can
and letting it all come together over time

nothing to perfect
nothing to keep up with

just a way to reconnect

which one feels like what you need right now—
foundation, strength, ease, or flow? ✨

Save this post to come back to each week.

This Earth Day, we’re making it easy to do something meaningful 🌎♻️

All month long, you’re invited to recycle your electronics responsibly—clear out what you no longer need while giving it a proper place to go.

We’re accepting a wide range of items (including small TVs), with a few simple guidelines to keep things running smoothly.

Some items have a small recycling fee, and for safety, we cannot accept swollen lithium-ion batteries, and all battery terminals must be taped.

It’s a simple way to take care of your space and the planet.

See the full list of accepted items and details here:

Yoga Sutra 1.11 reminds us that memory is the imprint of past experience—something the mind holds onto and revisits, often without us trying.

A scent, a song, a place… and suddenly you’re somewhere else.

But memory isn’t fixed—it’s shaped by how you experienced it.

In yoga, the practice is noticing when the past is coloring the present. Not to push it away, but to see it clearly.

Because this moment isn’t your memory of it. It’s something entirely new.

a couple little shifts to the schedule this April ✨

Friday 4/3 will be our last 8am slow flow (for now) — so if that early morning class has been your thing, come soak it in one more time with Jenn 🤍

You’ll also notice Sunday mornings will be rotating teachers through the summer while Sarah takes some time for wedding planning + helping welcome a new baby into the family 🫶

As we look ahead to summer, we’d love to hear from you — what do you want to see on the schedule?

Thank you for flowing with us as things shift and evolve — we love being part of your routine, in whatever way that looks right now 🌿

Hello April! 🌷💜

Our teacher of the month is Barb ✨
Barb brings a grounded, thoughtful presence to each class, guiding students through mindful movement, breath, and a steady, supportive pace.

The pose of the month is extended side angle

💡also known as Utthita Parsvakonasana, benefits of this pose are:
• strengthens legs
• stretches hips, groin, and side body
• opens chest and shoulders
• builds stability and endurance
• supports balance and body awareness
• can help relieve stiffness from prolonged sitting

📸 tag us in your photos when you try extended side angle!

💐 practice with Barb:
• Tuesday 9:15am — slow flow
• Wednesday 6:00pm — slow flow
• Wednesday 7:15pm — inner calm
• rotating teacher for Sunday 9:15am vinyasa

nothingness is still something the mind experiences

in Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 1.10, even sleep is considered a movement of the mind—
a state shaped by absence, but still experienced

even in the quiet
even in rest
the mind is still moving, still perceiving

yoga isn’t about stopping the mind completely
it’s about noticing… all of it
even the spaces that feel like nothing

what does your mind do in stillness?
