You may have heard me say it before — you are not your thoughts. You are not your feelings. You are not the experiences or the sensations themselves.

You are the one who observes.
The one who thinks.
The one who feels.
The one who experiences.

This is what it means to be the Seer.

To be the Seer is to step back into that steady awareness — the quiet witness beneath it all. When the mind softens and becomes calm, we return to this truth: our essence is not the noise, but the presence that observes it.

Every practice, every breath, is an invitation to reconnect with that deeper Self. 💫

✨Yoga Sutra 1.3✨
"Tadā draṣṭuḥ svarūpe avasthānam” — Then the Seer abides in its own true nature.

In Sutra 1.2, Patanjali tells us that yoga is the stilling of the mind. Sutra 1.3 reveals what follows: when the fluctuations of thought quiet, the true Self is revealed. This isn’t about becoming something new — it’s about seeing clearly what’s always been there. Beneath the noise of the mind, the stories we carry, and the identities we cling to, there is a steady presence: awareness itself.

Yoga, then, is a process of remembering. We peel back layers of distraction, conditioning, and restlessness until we can rest in that deeper Self — untouched, whole, and free.

✨Puppy Pose — 4 Ways to Explore the Shape✨

Puppy Pose is a heart-opening posture that melts tension in the shoulders, lengthens the spine, and offers a gentle backbend. Here are four ways to explore it—whether you’re winding down or looking for a deeper stretch:

1️⃣ Traditional Puppy Pose
From hands and knees, walk your arms forward and melt your chest toward the mat. Keep hips stacked over knees and forehead or chin resting down. Breathe into the space across your chest and shoulders.

2️⃣ With a Block
Place a block under your elbows and bring your palms together, fingertips reaching toward the crown of your head. This variation intensifies the shoulder stretch and encourages the chest to melt even deeper.

3️⃣ On the Wall
Bring your palms to the wall at shoulder height, walk your feet back, and hinge at the hips. Let your chest sink as you press into the wall. This is a great option if you want the stretch without kneeling, or as a quick desk yoga reset.

4️⃣ Toes Tucked & Knees Lifted
For an active variation, tuck your toes and lift your knees an inch off the mat while keeping your arms reaching forward. This lights up the core and legs, while still offering shoulder and spine opening.

✨ Each variation shifts the experience of the pose, from soothing to strengthening.

✨ This month, we’ve been sitting with Yoga Sutra 1.2: Yoga is the calming of the mind.

It’s easy to think of yoga as just the movement on the mat, but this sutra reminds us it’s so much more. Yoga is the practice of finding stillness—even when life feels messy, uncertain, or overwhelming. 🌿

When the storms of life rise up, we have a choice: to get swept away in the chaos, or to return to the anchor of breath, body, and presence. That return is yoga.

This week’s reflection:
💭 What practices, rhythms, or simple moments bring you back to calm?
💭 When do you feel yourself dropping into stillness, even if just for a breath?

Your practice doesn’t have to look perfect—it just has to bring you back home to yourself.

✨ What is flow-on-your-own?
It’s the heart of Yoga Onyx. A space where guidance meets freedom, and your breath becomes the teacher.

First, we guide you through the sequence so you feel steady and confident. Then, you’re invited to move at your own rhythm — honoring your breath, your body, and your pace.

Who cares if you forget the exact flow the teacher taught? That’s not the point. The point is finding your own connection to your body and breath. Add on. Let go. Change it completely if you need to. When you flow-on-your-own, the space is yours.

It’s not about performance. It’s about presence.
It’s not about “keeping up.” It’s about tuning in.

💛 Come experience the practice that’s as unique as you are. Flow-on-your-own is waiting for you here at Yoga Onyx.
