Dr. Tersigni and his family recently returned from another incredible trip to Ghana, where he joined forces with Ghana Make a Difference to perform life-changing cataract and other sight-restoring surgeries for those in need.
These surgeries were performed in GMAD’s brand new surgical center — made possible through the generosity of Beast Philanthropies . Together, we’re helping bring the gift of vision to those who need it most.
We’re grateful to be part of such a meaningful mission and humbled by the chance to make a difference.

Dr. Tersigni recently traveled to Ghana to help provide cataract and other sight restoring surgeries to those who wouldn't otherwise have access to care. Tersigni Vision worked with Ghana Make a Difference and Watborg Eye Services, who helped organize and host the surgical mission. Dr. Tersigni teamed up with excellent Ghanaian surgeons, Dr. Boateng Wiafe and his son Dr. Geoffrey Wiafe, who together run Watborg Eye Services and all together over 150 surgeries were performed! Dr. Tersigni's whole family came along to help and even his youngest daughter contributed by cheering people up in the waiting room.

The best part is the smile on the patient's face when the patches come off and they can see again.

After surgery, many of our patients choose to toss their old glasses into our donation jar. Dr Tersigni will be traveling soon to Ghana for an upcoming medical mission trip to perform sight restoring surgeries for those in need. In addition to the surgeries, these glasses will be given to those who otherwise have no means to get corrective lenses on their own. Our patients’ donations will be helping other people see!👀

First in Oregon! Today, Dr. Tersigni was the first surgeon in Oregon to implant the IC-8 Apthera lens implant. It uses pinhole optics to give an extended range of vision and is another tool we have to help our patients get out of glasses and contacts. During his training, Dr. Tersigni was involved in one of the FDA trials for this lens and is excited to finally see it available commercially.
