About your Food & Mood Journal:

In this culture, connecting with food and your body has been made complicated. Ideally, you would have grown up surrounded by the healing power of food, guided into having a peaceful relationship with food, taught how to nourish yourself, and being told to fiercely LOVE your body. Then you could have easily embodied the knowledge that everyone has unique needs, that we are all beautiful, all capable, but not all the same. Food is so many things and individual medicine is one of them.

This journal encourages you to love yourself to a greater state of wellness. Yes, food affects the body, but just as important is your mindset before, during and after eating. Perfection is never the answer, and the perfect diet does not exist. Your emotions also do not need to be perfect. To heal, you need a consistent effort of self-love and a willingness to examine your actions and your mindset.

And practically, if you have been unsure which food and drinks affect your belly, you can easily track your patterns using this journal.

Most guided journals only have room for the morning and evening, but this Food and Mood Journal has space for tracking your afternoon wellness! Clearly observing the afternoon allows you to understand how your morning rituals affected your day, and it allows you to shift your evening plans accordingly. And in Eastern medicine, your midday meal should be your most filling meal, so noticing your afternoon patterns is essential to understanding your digestive and emotional health.

Anyone can use this journal, but readers of the author's other works will track their Eastern medicine changes and their mindset surrounding food and self-love. Using this journal's sister companion, the Mindful Movement Journal, readers can create a unique, broad, challenging, and loving wellness plan.

Throughout this journal, notice the word love and move forward, seeking.

It’s really just manual therapy. Touch therapy. Your body is set up to receive healing touch. Women are often surprised by how potent the work becomes over time. The jaw muscles can be very very tender. They have been holding onto tension for decades. I work the inside of the jaw with either the pinky or index finger and instruct women to breath. To visualize. Pressure and time spent inside the jaw can change based on a women’s tolerance. Some women come in knowing they want the muscles worked on longer. Often they have had short applications of pressure at another providers office. Other women want the inside of the jaw worked on briefly and we spend more time outside the jaw and on the head and neck. I love feedback from a woman during the session.
Is it possible to be sore afterwards? Yes but for most women it’s just a little bit.
Is it possible to have a flu-like reaction? Yes but it’s very rare and that reaction is possible in any type of physical treatment when biochemicals are being moved and modified.
And over time, we work down the spine, on the sacrum. The work varies and grows.
The most important thing I hope all women walk away from is understanding that the breathing, brain change, and pelvic floor healing -the pelvic floor allowing a full breath- will help end cycles of TMJ tension.

“Women commonly come in saying their neck has hurt for decades. As we work to carve out stuck and painful soft tissue, we increase the body’s sense of safety by increasing options for range of motion. This work is effective because it is slow, concentrated, and direct. I aim for feedback and shift as needed. That said, I am comfortable not being the therapist for everyone.” - Greet LO, December 2023.
So grateful for this beautiful spread 💖🙏🏻💖

A quick introduction: my name is Tara and my initials are TLC!!! I’ve been a bodyworker for 20 years, longer if you include the years I was learning, giving, and receiving before licensing. And I believe in the process of change. That healing can be comfortable and uncomfortable. I know our culture has trained us to believe in quick: quick results, quick answers, get it done and move on and I believe that is why so many suffer. I believe in the rearranging of tissues. The biochemical change that happens each time you receive care. I believe in the power of the mind-body system and in the self-talk that defines our reality. I believe society has limited our ability to understand and intuit health and I equally believe in our individual ability to reclaim what has always been ours. I believe in the life-saving abilities of modern healthcare and I believe in the ancient principles of daily living. It is these principles that use the body and brain and the energy present within each of us to create true health and deepen our relationship with the self. I believe we don’t have to “act spiritual” at all times or at any time but instead we just know that everything is spiritual and everything is health. There is never a separation between the three parts of our one self—mind, body, and soul.
I believe that social media takes too much time but I’ll be showing up occasionally anyways 😂

Wellness is a constant and loving conversation between each part of your Oneself. In a culture that has medically separated us into a bunch of little parts this sounds abstract.
But it’s really very simple. You are whole. One being. Everything affecting everything else.
Make choices with love and kindness and listen as your Mind, Body, and Spirit System thanks you.
