A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Trick-or-Treat event this past Saturday! We had over 25 little ghouls and goblins stop by, and our residents absolutely loved seeing all the creative costumes. Some even ran out of candy—it was that popular! What a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and Halloween spirit.

For our team member Nancy, Fall holds a special place in her heart:

“It was in Fall that I had my firstborn. I remember bringing him home on a beautiful sunny day, sitting on the back steps cuddling my newborn while my father and husband washed all the windows. I guess I wasn’t the only one nesting! That Fall had unusually good weather, and we spent many days on long walks with the stroller, admiring the colorful trees. I remember those precious days, especially when Fall comes around.”

Fall reminds us of cozy memories, family moments, and the simple beauty around us.

Founder & CEO Fee Stubblefield grew up at Lehman Hot Springs in eastern Oregon, which was purchased by his Grandpa Fancho Stubblefield 100 years ago, in 1925. It later became the namesake of The Springs Living. For decades, people from far and wide visited Lehman Hot Springs to soak in the hot springs and feel rejuvenated.

Today, The Springs Living is focused on metaphorically providing that healing and comforting water, making life a little easier for those living in our communities. Much as Fee’s grandparents worked hard to deliver exceptional experiences for guests at Lehman Hot Springs all those years ago, we want to express gratitude to all who work in our communities to provide quality resident experiences every day for the hundreds of grandparents in our care.

Fall is a special time for many residents—a season filled with cozy moments, colorful walks, and fond memories of years past. For Donna, fall is all about the colors—especially the way an oak tree glows against a bright blue sky. One of her favorite memories is hiking around Lost Lake and Lost Butte with the Lake Oswego Hiking Group. She remembers reaching the top and feeling as if she could almost touch Mount Hood, surrounded by friends and stunning scenery. The memory of a past trip to New England also stands out for Donna—she still recalls the crisp, clean air that perfectly captured the feeling of fall.

These days, Donna still enjoys walking outdoors to take in the changing colors and, when it’s time to cozy up inside, curling up with a good book. She also loves seeing the holiday decorations around the community and watching the trick-or-treaters each year—a new favorite tradition.

For the 2025–26 school year, 125 employees and their immediate family members from The Springs Living are receiving educational scholarships—the highest number yet.

This year, we’re also proud to award the Linda Orr Memorial Nursing Scholarship to Stefani Rodriguez, executive chef at The Springs at Clackamas Woods, who is pursuing her nursing degree after more than a decade of service with The Springs Living. 💙

Created in memory of Linda Orr, a beloved nurse at The Springs at Whitefish who passed away in 2023, this scholarship honors her legacy of compassion and commitment.

Our annual scholarship program is one way we invest in professional growth—a core pillar of employee wellness at The Springs Living.

Our residents are so excited to see all the little ghosts, superheroes, and princesses wandering through our halls! Join us on Saturday, October 25th from 2:00–4:00 p.m. for a spook-tacular afternoon of trick-or-treating, sweet treats, and smiles.

Families are invited to explore our beautifully decorated common areas while residents hand out goodies and enjoy the Halloween fun. Seeing all the creative costumes truly makes their day!

We’re thrilled to share that The Springs at The Waterfront has been recognized by Senior Housing News with a 2025 SHN Architecture & Design Award—earning first place in the Continuing Care Retirement Community / Life Plan Community Lite (CCRC/LPC Lite) category!

This is no small honor. Communities from across the country and around the world submitted their very best projects in 16 categories, and The Springs at The Waterfront rose to the top.

As its nomination states, this community sets a new standard for what vibrant, next-generation living looks like for older adults.

Nicole Jemming, vice president of operations for The Springs Living, has been appointed to the Montana Health Care Association board!

Nicole has been elected to a two-year term as one of two assisted living representatives for the state.

While Nicole is the one serving in this role, this will also help elevate the voices of our dedicated Montana executive directors, who help lead in the charge in changing the way people across Montana think, feel, and experience senior living.

Last week, we celebrated 12 team members from The Springs at Carman Oaks in Lake Oswego, Oregon, the latest cohort to complete the Spring Ahead course.

This 12-week program is designed to support employees' understanding of personal finances and professional development. In the process, the group collaborated to solve workplace challenges, and several participants discovered they had access to more resources to support their success than they had previously realized.

Congratulations to all Spring Ahead participants for being proactive in developing the quality of you through personal and professional growth.

This week marks one year since we opened the doors of The Springs at The Waterfront in Vancouver, Washington.

In just 12 months, this beautiful community has become so much more than a building, it’s a place where residents and team members create connections, share joy, and celebrate life every day.

Last Wednesday, September 24th, we had not one, but TWO incredible team members recognized at the Oregon Health Care Association convention.

🌟Anjie Lambert, Life Enrichment Director at The Springs at Carman Oaks, received the Enrichment of Life Award. Anjie has been at Carman Oaks for 19 years, bringing joy, creativity, and purpose to our residents every single day. This marks the third year in a row—and the fifth time in six years—that this award has gone to someone from The Springs Living. It’s a true testament to the passion and dedication our team brings to creating meaningful experiences for residents.

🌟 Ole Lindbo, Regional Director of Operations, was honored with a Special Service Award, joining four other senior living leaders recognized for their outstanding support of OHCA’s legislative efforts this past year.
