Story time: recently one of our young ladies sat for a full neuropsychological evaluation. Of course, due to COVID the testing had to be done off campus in a socially distant environment.... however we were lucky enough to have a furry support staff accompany her. Photo cred goes to the psychological evaluator who stated the pup did the job amazingly and the student was well regulated.

Our Story

Calo Teens is a residential treatment program serving struggling teens who have experienced developmental trauma/childhood stress. Calo was created with specialty care in mind. We heal the effects of developmental trauma using an attachment paradigm. The teens we serve are often also impacted by adoption and wounded in the areas of empathy, altruism, and relationship formation are our focus.

The best way to heal developmental trauma is to provide healthy, repetitive, relational therapeutic experiences in a context of relationships that are consistently safe, empathetic and attuned. Calo implements a unique and truly relational treatment model using evidence-based attachment treatment research and the science of neurobiology. We believe, and research supports, that this approach coupled with intense family work is the most significant and powerful agent of change. Our proprietary treatment approach is pervasive throughout the program and ultimately leads to co-regulation and joy.
