📱 Important Message for Our Medicare Patients!
We want to take a moment to warn all of our Medicare patients to be very cautious when receiving unsolicited phone calls—especially those offering telehealth services or preventative screenings.
đŸš« These calls often come from unknown providers you’ve never seen or spoken to. Patients have reported receiving abnormal test results after these virtual visits, with no follow-up care or explanation from the provider who ordered them.
⚠ Even more concerning, if these tests come back abnormal, it could lead to additional testing, specialist visits, or procedures—which may result in higher out-of-pocket costs to you as the patient. Without proper coordination, this can create unnecessary expenses and stress.
✅ Our office is here to help. We are fully equipped to handle all of your preventative and wellness needs, with providers who know your medical history and are committed to your long-term care.
👉 If you're ever unsure about a call or service being offered, please call our office first. It’s very important that we stay involved in your healthcare to ensure continuity of care, accurate results, and appropriate follow-up.
📞 We’re here to support your health—safely, personally, and responsibly. 318-559-4024
Your health is personal—let's keep it that way.

💚 Motivational Monday | Self-Care Check-In💚

You deserve care, too.

Before your week gets busy, let’s pause for a quick self-care check-in:

✅ Did you drink enough water today?
✅ Have you stepped outside for a breath of fresh air?
✅ Did you eat something nourishing?
✅ Have you checked in with your emotions?
✅ Have you scheduled your check-up or followed up on that appointment?

✹ Your body, mind, and spirit deserve attention—and it starts with small, intentional choices.

At the Family Medical Behavioral Health Clinic, we remind our community that mental health is health. Taking a moment to breathe, journal, or talk to someone can make all the difference.

At the Family Medical Clinic, we’re here to support your physical health, because self-care also looks like keeping up with labs, blood pressure checks, diabetes care, and preventive screenings.

If you need someone to talk to—or a clinic that truly sees you—we’re here.

📚📓🍎Mental Health Matters for Teachers – This School Year📚📓🍎

As we begin a new school year, it's easy to get swept up in lesson planning, classroom prep, meetings, and the endless needs of our students. But before the rhythm of the year takes over, let’s pause and center one essential truth: You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Your mental health and well-being matter—not just for your sake, but for the countless lives you touch every single day. When you care for yourself first, your ability to teach, connect, support, and inspire grows stronger.
Teaching is more than just a job; it's a role that demands emotional presence, patience, empathy, and resilience. And to show up fully for your students, your colleagues, and your loved ones, you must first show up for yourself.

Why Prioritize Self-Care?
Self-care is not selfish – it’s how you sustain the energy to keep doing what you love.
A well-balanced teacher creates a well-balanced classroom.
Your mental health sets the tone. Students often reflect the emotional climate we create. A calm, grounded teacher helps create a safe and supportive learning space.
Modeling boundaries and wellness teaches students life skills they’ll carry far beyond your classroom.

This Year, Give Yourself Permission To:
Take mental health days when needed.
Set boundaries and say no when your plate is full.
Spend time doing what brings you peace, joy, and renewal—outside of school.
Talk about how you’re feeling without shame or guilt.
Seek support—whether that’s from a colleague, counselor, or therapist.
Rest, unplug, and disconnect when your mind and body call for it.
You are more than your role as a teacher. You are a whole person, and you deserve the same care, compassion, and encouragement that you so freely give to others.
Let’s make this school year one where your well-being is non-negotiable—because when you’re well, your impact is even greater.

💚Mental Health Monday💚

✹ It’s OK to Slow Down ✹

This is your weekly reminder that it’s okay to take a deep breath, pause, and protect your peace.
You don’t have to hustle every hour of the day to be worthy. You don’t have to carry it all alone.
Give yourself permission to rest. To breathe. To be.

Whether it’s five minutes of quiet, a walk outside, or simply saying “no” to something that drains you — your mental health matters. Your peace matters. 💚

📌 This week, let this be your affirmation:
“I will protect my peace and give myself permission to rest.”

Let us know in the comments: What’s one thing you’re doing this week to care for your mental health?

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Mr. Terry Glenn Jordan, MS, LPC 🌟
Licensed Professional Counselor | Family Medical Behavioral Health Clinic – Lake Providence, LA

Today we shine the light on Mr. Terry Glenn Jordan, a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor with seven years of experience, currently serving at the Family Medical Behavioral Health Clinic for the past six months.

With over 30 years as a pastor, Mr. Terry’s passion for helping people led him to pursue counseling at a deeper level. He returned to college for his psychology degree and now blends the power of faith and education to bring healing and hope to others.

💬 “Prayer is a better guide than education—but together, they make a powerful combination.”

One moment he’ll never forget? A 12-year-old patient who cried for three days straight until Mr. Terry sat beside him in silence, held him close, and gave him peace. The boy later said, “When he put his arms around me, it felt like angel wings.”

Mr. Terry loves working with patients of all ages—from 2 to 82—and especially finds joy in helping children who can’t always express their struggles in words. He believes empathy is what separates good counselors from great ones.

To stay grounded, he says it’s important to “close the file” and leave work at work. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, board games with his wife, and their favorite weekend activity—junking!

🐔 Fun fact: His go-to comfort food is chicken
 chicken
 and more chicken! 😂

His dream? A 7-day Alaskan cruise, followed by a scenic train ride back to Mississippi with his wife.

Mr. Terry gives credit to his mentor Nathan Chenault for helping guide him through school and encouraging him to keep going.

💬 “I may not change everyone, but if I can help one person a day, we can change the world—one person at a time.”

Mr. Terry, thank you for your heart, your story, and your incredible gift of listening, loving, and leading with compassion.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Pauline Jackson 🌟
Medical Receptionist | Family Medical Behavioral Health Clinic – Lake Providence, LA

Today, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Ms. Pauline Jackson, one of the newest faces under the East Carroll Parish Hospital umbrella, serving as the Medical Receptionist at the Family Medical Behavioral Health Clinic for the past seven months.

From the moment you walk through our doors, Pauline’s smile lights up the room—and it’s no accident. Her journey here was God-led. After her last job ended, Pauline prayed and asked, “God, what’s my next assignment?” She knew she wanted to be in a position that wasn’t just a job—but a purposeful placement.

💬 “I’ve always loved people and helping people. And because I worked in the mental health field myself, I knew I could make people feel like they belong here the moment they walk in the building.”

Pauline brings years of leadership and customer service experience, including roles in management, office administration, and being a Supervisor, but she now serves with a deeper conviction—to only go where God sends her.

What she loves most about her role? Being the face of the clinic, speaking life and encouragement to patients, and not just greeting them with a smile—but helping them leave with one too.

She believes every great medical receptionist should carry:
✹ Professionalism
✹ A warm smile
✹ Patience—even in chaos
✹ A heart for people

Her most fulfilling accomplishment isn’t tied to titles—but to the impact she’s had.
💬 “I’m grateful that God has chosen me to help people in many different ways.”

She stays motivated by staying prayed up—reminding herself that God is her peace on even the toughest days. Her favorite go-to scripture:
📖 “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few are chosen.” – Matthew 20:16

A few fun facts about Pauline:
✈ She’s never flown on a plane or visited New Orleans
🍗 Her comfort food is chicken—“Everybody knows PJ loves her some chicken!” 😄
đŸŽ¶ Her hobbies include singing, dancing, spending time with family, and making others laugh
🌄 If she could travel anywhere, she’d visit the Museum of the Bible and Prayer Mountain, because of her walk with Christ and her love for God’s presence
💙 Her self-care? Prayer room time and solo self-care dates

When asked about people who’ve helped shape her role, she gives flowers to:
– On’junnae Hewitt, who trained her and “helped more than she’ll ever know”
– Jennifer Newton, her mentor, whose Christ-centered leadership and patient, firm guidance makes it easy to show up and do the work

Pauline says being spotlighted means the world to her:
💬 “I believe every employee, no matter their title or how long they’ve been here, deserves to feel valued. And I’m honored to be recognized today.”

Pauline, thank you for being a light in this clinic, for leading with love, and for showing up each day with purpose, faith, and joy. You make people feel seen—and that’s a gift to this entire community.
