As open enrollment and insurance changes continue, we encourage all patients to carefully review any new insurance plans before signing up. Unfortunately, many insurance companies market plans as “accepted everywhere” or “the best option,” only for patients to later discover that their primary care providers, local hospitals, outpatient mental health providers, and specialists are out of network. This can leave patients with unexpected medical bills and limited access to care.

We also want to make our community aware that Family Medical Clinic Behavioral Health, East Carroll Medical Clinic, and East Carroll Parish Hospital are currently NOT in network with United Healthcare Individual & Family Exchange Plans at this time. We are actively working through the credentialing and contracting process to become in network, but until that process is completed, we cannot accept these plans.

We have also spoken with several patients who were unaware they had even been enrolled into these plans, which has created confusion and barriers to receiving care. We strongly encourage everyone to verify their coverage directly with their insurance company and confirm that their providers and facilities are in network before finalizing enrollment.

Our priority remains providing accessible healthcare services to our community, and we will continue advocating for our patients throughout this process.
