And while many things about birth are intuitive, knowledge is power. And these are skills you can practice before birth!

🤰 It is so important to work with a Pelvic Floor PT DURING your pregnancy!

While kegels (when done correctly) are functional and beneficial for strengthening, there are so many more things that can improve your outcomes postpartum.

Did you know that during labor, tissues need to relax and stretch up to 300% to allow the uterus to contract and push baby out??

During labor your pelvic floor needs to RELAX and make way for baby, no kegels in sight 👀

Birth prep teaches you about:
✨ Labor and birthing positions
✨ Pelvic floor relaxation
✨ Pushing techniques
✨ Perineal massage
✨ Pain reduction - before, during, and after labor..so that your pelvic floor can get out of the way as the uterus pushes the baby out 🫶

👉 Kegels may help with recovery postpartum, but are definitely NOT birth prep!

Women's health is terrifying 😱😭

Not many people know where chainsaws originated from...but they were originally a medical instrument in the 1800s meant to quickly widen the pelvis during obstructed childbirth.

Medicine has come a long way. But not nearly far enough, especially when it comes to women's health.
