Reusable menstrual products often instruct for self-emptying....literally cueing you to push and bear down in order to empty them.

For anyone with prolapse, leaking, constipation, hemorrhoids, or hernias, we DON'T WANT YOU BEARING DOWN 🚩

We spend a lot of time in pelvic floor physical therapy teaching people not to bear down unnecessarily, so I'm not going to recommend utilizing this feature.

Informed choices will always be better than viral trends.🤓 Your long-term pelvic floor health matters 🩷

🚨 Pelvic floor, PSA 🚨
"Self-emptying" menstrual cups require you to bear down to release them. That's the same pressure strategy we work to avoid when someone has pelvic organ prolapse, urinary or bowel leaking, constipation, hemorrhoids, or hernias.
👉If bearing down is already part of your system picture, these products may increase the strain on the pelvic floor and make things worse over time.
🫣Not every trending product is pelvic for friendly.
✨Your body deserves nuance, not hacks. When in doubt, talk with a pelvic floor PT who understands your history ✨🥰
