Many ask, what does speech therapy have to do with a stroke? Many people focus on the physical aspects of a stroke; however, we forget how it changes us on the inside. Symptoms of stroke can include difficulty with swallow, speech, and cognition. After a stroke did have trouble with memory, organization, attention, or reasoning? Speech therapy provides tools to help with compensatory strategies to assist with cognitive difficulties or relieve the severity. I want you to know there is always help out there.
