🌟 Blood Donation Hall of Fame Spotlight 🌟

Today, we remember and celebrate the life of Bertha Axtman, a 2025 Blood Donor Hall of Fame inductee, who passed away in November 2024 after 94 incredible years.

For over five decades, Bertha led North Dakota’s largest blood drive, inspiring tens of thousands of blood donations. Her events, which she began with her husband Albert in the late 1960s, were known for community spirit, homemade cookies, and Albert’s famous sloppy joes. After Albert’s passing, Bertha continued the tradition, leading hundreds of drives and ensuring every donor felt appreciated.

“I do it because I love it — I love to help people!” Bertha said. Her kindness and dedication will forever be remembered by the countless lives she touched.

🌟 Blood Donation Hall of Fame Spotlight 🌟

Meet J. David Myers, a 2025 Blood Donor Hall of Fame inductee, who’s continuing his family’s 70-year legacy of saving lives.

David gave his first blood donation in 1972 during Army basic training and hasn’t stopped since, with over 315 platelet donations since 1998 alone. Inspired by his mother, who helped organize Delaware’s first blood bank group, David has made it his mission to give back.

In addition to donating, David has volunteered thousands of hours at mobile blood drives, recruited donors, and even stepped into the role of his local blood bank’s mascot, “Delmar” the bloodhound. “I’m continuing the Myers family’s 70-year tradition of giving,” he said.

Our Women’s VOICE Employee Impact Group proudly joined the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Libertyville, Illinois for the fourth consecutive year. This annual tradition brought together Fresenius Kabi employees, families, and friends to raise awareness, honor survivors, and support research and prevention efforts.
