This month is all about so today we thought we'd invite a few over for our "Auberge Animal Adventure"! Our friends at Zoos Are Us, Inc dba A Zoo To You brought us a cow, rooster, rabbit, sheep, little lambs and baby goats too! We had so much fun seeing and feeding and petting them and Chef Daniel cooked up some hotdogs for us for a little snack! It was a great day for a ! This morning we had our annual but we couldn't have done it without our amazing residents filling the eggs! It took a lot of teamwork to fill 500 eggs! The children from Peace Lutheran Church of Lake Zurich joined us as well as local families and friends. What a beautiful day with the children running all over to find eggs and the church kids singing some familiar Sunday school songs for residents as they sat out on the porches to enjoy it all. This morning we were proud to be a sponsor at a huge community event held at Foglia YMCA. What a fun time seeing all the people, businesses, and performers at the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce 2025 Everything Expo! Debbie, Ida, Pat, and Janice along with caregiver Antonio walked around, watched and listened to some great performers, picked up goodie bags filled with treats, and enjoyed people watching at this popular community event!

We made a delicious slow cooker potato soup this week while the weather was still chilly. Our resident culinary club pitched in to add the ingredients: onion, shredded potatoes, cream, chicken broth, garlic, salt, and pepper. We let it cook in the evening and served it with dinner the next day. It was delicious!

On this , we want to give a big shout out to all the individuals who make up team Auberge at Lake Zurich. Thank you for the care you give the residents at our community. Thank you for cooking and serving delicious and healthy meals for them. Thank you for keeping our community clean and home-like. Thank you for the nursing care you provide. We had an enjoyable lunchtime at McAlister's Deli, Village of Lake Zurich. The crew there was so helpful to us and the food was delicious as usual! Pat, Margarita, Kay, and Ida couldn't believe the size of their salads--and their drinks! Virginia loved her grilled ham and cheese sandwich (which she was able to customize just the way she wanted) and she said she hadn't had a Coca Cola in so long, it was great! We're so grateful for a sunny day to get out and go somewhere.

This afternoon we took a trip to the Dunn Museum Libertyville, to see what we could discover... we discovered the exhibits weren't open today, but... we had a private tour of the lobby with Alex, the Executive Director for Lake County Forest Preserves. He took some time to tell us about the current and upcoming exhibits and invited us back. We can't wait to return to see all the museum has to offer, including a life-sized Dryptosaurus dinosaur and a quilting and textile exhibit called "Threads of Time". See you at the !

In addition, two of our caregivers, Antonio and Heavenly are credentialed as internal trainers in the Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® at The Auberge at Lake Zurich. The approach to dementia care transforms senior living by giving residents an active role in their daily lives and meaningful engagement opportunities through our activity program.
