🍀 Throwback Thursday 🍀

This past Tuesday, the residents at Melody Living sham-ROCKED the house with a good old-fashioned Irish party! 🇮🇪🎤 From Irish karaoke (some hits, some… very creative interpretations 😄) to great conversations, tasty snacks, and a splash of Green River—fun was definitely on the menu.

A few of our residents even tried Green River for the very first time… and let’s just say, there were some very enthusiastic reviews! 💚

Laughter is the Pot of Gold! 🌈
​What a week! We’ve definitely found the "luck of the Irish" right here at home. 🇮🇪 From the rhythmic tapping of the Mayer School of Irish Dance on Sunday to Heather’s charming "Kiss Me, I’m Irish" performance, our residents have been non-stop celebrating! ☘️
​A huge Thank You to the Mayer School of Irish Dance for putting on such a spectacular show—our residents are still talking about that incredible footwork and energy!
​The festivities continued at our St. Patrick’s Day Social yesterday, featuring:
​🧠 A spirited game of "Truth or Blarney" trivia (and there was plenty of Blarney!)
​🥨 A delicious spread of festive appetizers
​😂 Non-stop laughs with friends and neighbors

Wine glasses aren’t just for drinking! 🍷🎨

This week, our Independent Living residents got creative during a wine glass painting class, turning simple drinkware into beautiful works of art. Each resident had the opportunity to design their own unique piece, and the results were amazing!

🎭 A Night at the Theater!

​Our assisted living residents had an absolutely amazing time this past Wednesday at Crystal Lake Central High School! We were treated to a fabulous performance of the musical Mamma Mia!, and it was a hit from start to finish.
​The talent on that stage was incredible—the students did a phenomenal job bringing the story to life. We are also so grateful for how accommodating and welcoming everyone was to our group.
​A huge thank you to Brittany for inviting us to be a part of such a wonderful evening. Our residents are still humming the tunes!

This week at Melody Living, we held our monthly Food Committee meeting with Executive Chef Kevin 🍽️

These meetings give our residents the opportunity to share their ideas and suggestions—from main courses they’d love to see added to the menu to updates to our always-available options. Chef Kevin enjoys hearing directly from residents and turning their feedback into delicious new additions.

Dessert anyone? Yes, please! 🥧 Cherry pie was definitely a favorite suggestion this month.

Chef Kevin also shared some exciting updates about a new addition to our dining team, and residents will have the chance to meet him very soon.

We love seeing our residents’ input come to life and helping shape the dining experience here at Melody Living!
