During this cold weather, keep your feet WARM! Natural fiber socks such as wool or cotton are better than synthetic socks. Don’t use hot water bottles, especially if you have diabetes or poor circulation.

With summer upon us, a few things to remember when it comes to your feet:
1. Supportive shoes! Flip flops are great and easy to slip on and off, but if you're walking, BE CAREFUL. Injuries to the toes and feet can occur due to poor support that these tend to have.
2. Sunscreen! Don't forget your feet when it comes to applying sunblock. Remember, there is no such thing as a "healthy tan", even though we think it makes us look good.

With the winter in full force, and some more of that "4 letter word" (SNOW) possible for the next 6-8 weeks, be careful! Slips on snow and ice are very possible. Wear shoes that have good tread and if you are on ice or snow, try to "walk like a duck" by keeping your feet a little wider when you walk. If you do hurt your foot or ankle, please call 732 657-1700 to schedule an appointment.
