Meet Daryl Braddy! Daryl is a beacon of hope who truly inspires our team to continue providing patients with the care they deserve. When Daryl arrived at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeland for inpatient rehabilitation, he was recovering from a stroke that left him with limited mobility and other complications.

Through hard work, dedication and the support of his care team, Daryl made a remarkable recovery. On discharge day, he walked to the car with very little assistance, ready to begin the next chapter of his recovery journey at home.

We recently hosted a successful blood drive with OneBlood at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeland, bringing together staff and community members to give the gift of life. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, many pints of blood were collected to support patients in need. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference.

When Sam came to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeland on Aug. 26, he was paralyzed from Guillain-Barre syndrome. He required help for all aspects of mobility and self-care. With his wife at his side, our staff worked daily to personalize his therapies, and with Sam’s strong willpower, he progressed from using a mechanical lift transfer to walking with a walker within 20 days!

During his stay, Sam never let his challenges impact his motivation and determination, which also brought hope and camaraderie to other patients in the therapy gym. Sam is now back home and on his way to regaining his life and independence! We are honored to be a part of Sam’s inspirational journey!
