Just Keep Walkin'

Just Keep Walkin' This page is for people that have lost a family member or friend to drugs or alcohol, and help those in addition that want help. This is my Passion.

Welcome to Just Keep Walkin' A non-for-profit organization that help people that have lost a loved one, especially in a tragic way. There's nothing like having a loved one here one minute and gone the next. We have been where you are and are here to help you through your grief and get your life back. We don't do grief support, we do grief fellowship. Because we believe grief, in some form or another last a lifetime. See what makes us different.

After a lot of thought and prayer we are in the process of starting speaking engagements and sharing about what got Just Keep Walkin started. In doing some research on grief support groups and grief support in general we are looking at doing grief in a different way. A lot of grief support groups are only for a period of time then your on your own. We believe that grief last longer then a period of time, sometimes for a lifetime. That's why we will have a grief fellowship where you are welcome to come and be a part of a lifelong group. We are in the process of setting up this group and will let you know when and where we will meet.

Well it's been a while since I have posted on here. After moving from Alton, IL. to Lakeland, FL. a lot has happened. After moving here two years ago the covid 19 hit two weeks after we got here and everything was shut down. I couldn't start my new position at detox till I got my Florida license. 3 months later I finally got my license and started at detox. After 14 months at detox I totally retired. We bought a house in a 55 plus community where we were renting and that keep us busy for almost a year making changes inside and out. So now that things have settled down a bit it's time to concentrate on getting the foundation, Just Keep Walkin' up and running again. This still is and has always been my passion since it's conception in 2016. Grief and drug and alcohol addiction is the same no matter where you live. Some situations and how things are done from place to place may be different, but the stigmas are all the same. After praying and making some phone calls we are in the process of creating a new and exciting chapter in Just Keep Walkin'. Stay tuned for updates and events. We are also looking for people who would be interested in serving on the board. Please let me know if you are interested.

A Stanford researcher and two collaborators conducted an extensive review of Alcoholics Anonymous studies and found that the fellowship helps more people achieve sobriety than therapy does.
