Dear Families,
On 6/26/25, we received an email from the management company responsible for handling all of our Sunshine Health/CMS related clients. We were informed that effective immediately, Sunshine/CMS will not be reimbursing for more than one unit of Music Therapy each week. We are highly concerned about this abrupt change in patient care and investigating it further. At this time, we are not accepting new authorizations for CPT code G0176-Music Therapy. We will honor any authorizations that come in as a result of requests sent prior to today, but we will not be submitting any new requests at this time. We are also pausing services for Sunshine/CMS effective immediately while we investigate this issue and other related issues we are experiencing. If you would like to continue services using an alternate payment method, we have confirmed you are able to do so if you choose to, but you are not required by any means.

Dear families,

As of today, 4/15/2025, we have decided to close our waitlist for new clients until further notice. If you are already on the waitlist, your position will not be affected by this and you will be contacted when there is therapist availability.

Swan City Music Therapy is a very small business, currently co-owned and operated by two board-certified music therapists. We are actively looking for another music therapist to contract with to begin seeing clients on our waitlist, but at this time we do not have an estimate on when that will be. We are beyond excited that there is so much demand for services in this area and we do have plans to increase access to music therapy in Central Florida in the coming years.

If you are not on our waitlist but are interested in services, we are happy to refer you to other practices in the surrounding area. We appreciate your patience and will be providing updates when we can!
