๐ Tai Chi in Daily Life
A gentle Tai Chi routine for healing, relaxation, and inner strength โ even from bed.
๐ธ Tai Chi for Bedridden Recovery โ Guided Routine ๐ธ
Even while resting in bed, you can still embrace the healing power of Tai Chi. This soft, mindful practice blends breathwork, imagination, and gentle movements to restore calm, energy, and inner balance.
๐๏ธ Preparation (1 minute)
Lie comfortably on your back, or sit up with pillows for support.
Close your eyes.
Take three slow breaths and let your body melt into the bed.
๐ฌ๏ธ Step 1: Tai Chi Breathing (3โ5 minutes)
Place one hand on your lower abdomen (dantian).
Inhale gently through the nose โ feel your belly rise.
Exhale slowly through the mouth โ belly sinks.
Imagine each breath like a wave flowing in and out.
Continue at your own pace, letting calmness deepen with each breath.
๐ Step 2: Mind-Guided Flow (3 minutes)
With eyes closed, visualize yourself in a Tai Chi stance.
Feel energy rising: feet โ legs โ hips โ spine โ arms.
Imagine โCloud Handsโ โ arms floating side to side, smooth and circular.
Even without movement, let your mind and body connect.
๐คฒ Step 3: Gentle Bed Movements (5 minutes)
Wrist Circles: Rotate both wrists slowly, clockwise & counterclockwise.
Ankle Circles: Do the same with your ankles, keeping movements soft.
Floating Hands: Lift arms gently, palms facing as if holding a soft energy ball. Lower slowly. Repeat 5โ6 times.
Imaginary Weight Shift: Bend one knee slightly, then the other, as if shifting balance side to side. Feel rooted in your mind.
๐ง Step 4: Tai Chi Stillness (3โ5 minutes)
Rest both hands lightly on your abdomen.
Keep chest relaxed (han xiong) and back softly open (ba bei).
Focus awareness on the dantian.
Let thoughts fade. Rest in stillness.
Finish with three deep breaths, then gently open your eyes.
