Happy Sunday morning. I woke up with one of my sweet patients on my mind. She came for a visit to the pharmacy last week. We did our InBody body composition test and then we just sat down and talked about how she felt.

She’s feels the same way most of us women her age feel. (By the way she’s 50). She doesn’t feel like herself. She feels like she’s not in control anymore. Like she’s not strong anymore. She feels crazy!!😜 And she feels Fat. She doesn’t like her body however she feels she has lost control over it .

I listened and we looked at the lab work she brought me. I pointed out that she needs to take a deep breath and maybe try to laugh a little. I said you, no we, are not crazy!! The proof is on this paper. Our hormones are driving us crazy. But isn’t it a relief to at least just know what the problem is?? Now her OB didn’t want to prescribe hormone replacement therapy, so we had a great conversation about other things.

I gave her Lakeland Drug Company’s Jump Start Guide. Because don’t we all just need a place to start.

It’s a work in progress. I haven’t had it edited yet but I’m happy to share it with anyone that is interested.

This is a summary of our conversation and I’m sharing because I know someone will relate.

Good morning friend;

This is Ivey

I wanted to share my # in case you ever need to ask a question or just talk

You have an amazing support system with your husband . I can tell that he truly is interested in getting to the root cause and learning and supporting you.

It's a journey and you my friend are not the problem!!

Here is what happens to women as we age. Lack of hormone balance causes

Muscle loss, slows the thyroid, bad food choices, high stress, metabolic disregulation a change in metabolism (slow), increased inflammation, fat redistribution due to estrogen loss

We are battling against that. Take it one step at a time
1. Muscle loss: we did your test (InBody at Lakeland drug). Focus on those legs. Get 10,000 steps in a day. Walk early like right now if you can. And do squats!! Hold onto the back of a chair if you need to.

2. Our thyroid will never work properly with imbalanced cortisol. The cortisol support products and magnesium every night and every morning will support that.

3. Bad food choices are not our fault. It's a result of unhealthy gut and too much sugar. We have to make the hard step towards driving out that sugar. The more you eat the more we want. Gluten in bread and pasta is what we are addicted to!! Follow my Jump start guide. Don’t focus on what you can’t have. Focus on that list of foods that increase your GLP1 hormone to improve satiety and the guide to maximize your protein. You can do this!!

4. High stress!! Whew sister!! If I knew how to fix this I would fix myself 🤣🤣. We just do the best we can. God put us in the country not an apartment building on concrete. Get sunshine, get out in nature. Get 8 hours of sleep. Eat to live and quit living to eat. Eat with a purpose. Journal your food but also journal your gratitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Honestly our gut is responsible for the way we respond to stress so let's start that healing

5. Decreased metabolism. Fuel it with all the foods on the list I gave you. Move and stimulate the muscle. Our metabolic Berberine comes into play here. What a powerful player to help us

6. Increased inflammation. Yes we are INFLAMAGING!! This is what is aging us. We get inflammation from those 7 foods I told you about. Follow the jump start guide to eliminate them. We get inflammation From a leaky gut, from insulin spikes and from nutrient deficiencies . The jump start bundle is the first step to healing the gut.

7. Fat redistribution. The best thing someone ever told me was they tried diets their whole life and the only fat they lost was their b***s. Until they quit with the sugar and carbs. It was truly the only way to redistribute body fat and lose the belly. Because they flipped from using sugar for energy to fat for energy. Start with the jump start guide. We must address toxins and we don't live in a bubble. Periodically maybe once a month or every 3 months repeat it.
