Lakeland Midwifery Care provides personalized pregnancy care for people seeking home or hospital birth in central Florida. Midwifery care is rooted in a "low-tech, high touch" approach that centers the pregnant person in their own care. At LMC, you can expect respectful, culturally congruent care that affirms your individuality, your innate knowledge about your body and baby, and your lived experience. We provide prenatal care in our cozy office, birth in the privacy and comfort of your home (for people experiencing a low-risk pregnancy) OR birth at a local hospital with the hospitalists (CNMs or OBs), and postpartum care that is tailored for YOU.

We are proud to share the news that Amanda Mann, RN, LM, Mother, Wife, Friend, Colleague, Mentor, etc. has begun her journey to the UK to seek new opportunities for her and her family.

Amanda has been more than just a Midwife to Lakeland and to Florida, she has been a cornerstone, a steady presence, and a true advocate for families and midwifery alike. To say she will be miss is an understatement. Her impact on the community is immeasurable, and her absence leaves a space that will never be filled in the same way.

While this is truly the end of an era for our practice and for midwifery in Florida, we could not be more proud of Amanda for pursuing what is best for her family. We celebrate with her, even as we grieve her departure.

Amanda, we love you deeply, we are grateful beyond words for everything you gave poured into this community, and we wish you only the best as you embark on this next chapter. Keep fighting the good fight, leave your mark on them the way you did us, stay true to yourself (as if you have any other option), and remember, reputation vs honor!

Dear Community,

This is Amanda, writing to share some personal news with you.

After much reflection and preparation, I will be leaving Lakeland Midwifery Care to pursue advanced graduate studies in midwifery abroad (in the UK).

My final day with the practice will be September 8, 2025. Until then, I will continue to provide care and ensure a smooth transition for every family in my care.

It has been a profound honor to serve as my community’s midwife. I am deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and for the chance to be present with all of you. Your strength and stories have shaped me, and I will carry them with me.

I’m leaving LMC in excellent hands. The Lakeland Midwifery Care team—Neli Flores, LM, CPM, and Samantha Cummings and Bella Stevens (Office Coordinator)—will continue to offer the skilled, compassionate, and personalized CARE that defines our practice. They are both deeply committed to supporting you through every step of your journey.

It’s countdown time again! has 19 birth managements left before she’s eligible to take the NARM exam. It’s tradition at LMC to create a countdown chain. So happy to hang this one up.
