Lakeland Midwifery Care provides personalized pregnancy care for people seeking home or hospital birth in central Florida. Midwifery care is rooted in a "low-tech, high touch" approach that centers the pregnant person in their own care. At LMC, you can expect respectful, culturally congruent care that affirms your individuality, your innate knowledge about your body and baby, and your lived experi

ence. We provide prenatal care in our cozy office, birth in the privacy and comfort of your home (for people experiencing a low-risk pregnancy) OR birth at a local hospital with the hospitalists (CNMs or OBs), and postpartum care that is tailored for YOU.

Dear Community,

This is Amanda, writing to share some personal news with you.

After much reflection and preparation, I will be leaving Lakeland Midwifery Care to pursue advanced graduate studies in midwifery abroad (in the UK).

My final day with the practice will be September 8, 2025. Until then, I will continue to provide care and ensure a smooth transition for every family in my care.

It has been a profound honor to serve as my community’s midwife. I am deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and for the chance to be present with all of you. Your strength and stories have shaped me, and I will carry them with me.

I’m leaving LMC in excellent hands. The Lakeland Midwifery Care team—Neli Flores, LM, CPM, and Samantha Cummings and Bella Stevens (Office Coordinator)—will continue to offer the skilled, compassionate, and personalized CARE that defines our practice. They are both deeply committed to supporting you through every step of your journey.

Hi LMC Fam, we have a mom in need. She’s had multiple babies with us in the past. She is a stay at home mom of 8 and is now needing some support from the community with food items. It’s countdown time again! has 19 birth managements left before she’s eligible to take the NARM exam. It’s tradition at LMC to create a countdown chain. So happy to hang this one up.

And, a lakeside waterbirth baby for a repeat client makes 22 left for Samantha! As students progress in their numbers completed, it’s nice to reflect on how hard this work is and what a joy it is to do it with those you both LIKE and LOVE. 💕

Sometimes in pregnancy, in labor, in life, things don’t go as planned. When that happens at LMC, we never forget. We learn, we grow, and we reset. This very kind, tender gift reminds me every moment I step over it that each hour, really, is the Golden Hour; especially if we really need it to be. Just push the reset button and our golden hour starts now.

The Halloween Extravaganza was a smashing success! Thank you to all who made this possible. From the popcorn machine to the balloon animals to the current and past client and kids joining us for a really great time. The day was made complete by Marianne Power joining us as the good witch. The LMC Care Bear team even welcomed a sweet Halloween baby at the end of the day. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day EXCELLENT!
