Evidence from this systematic review and meta-analysis indicates that paternal mental distress is a potentially modifiable predictor of child development. Reducing mental distress in fathers perinatally is thus an important target for preventative interventions aiming to support fathers during the transition to parenthood and promote the health and well-being of next-generation offspring.

This systematic review and meta-analysis provides a synthesis of the literature on the association of paternal perinatal anxiety, depression, and stress and offspring development up to age 18 years.

I felt as if I was knighted on Thursday by Dr G Zachariah White. Thank you to the Minnesota Psychological Association for awarding me the medal in recognition of my year as President of MPA in 2024, President Elect in 2023, and Immediate Past President this year. Thank you also for the presidential citation. I will do my best to help advance the MPA mission in light of national issues impacting the practice of psychology and the psychological health of Minnesotans.
