When people refer to techniques like the Webster approach, the goal is not to “turn” the baby. 🙅‍♀️👶 The focus is on improving how the pelvis and surrounding tissues are functioning. 🦴✨

The idea: 💡 If there is asymmetry or restriction in the parent’s body, addressing that may:
Improve comfort 😌
Optimize space for the baby 🤰
But:
This does not guarantee a position change ⚠️
The evidence is still limited 🔬
Positioning is influenced by many factors (not just biomechanics) 🧩

This is why collaboration matters—OBs, midwives, pelvic PTs, acupuncturists and others all play a role. 🤝👩‍⚕️

Clear communication > exaggerated claims. 💬✅

🧠 Your MRI doesn’t tell the whole story.

Studies show that over 50% of pain-free people in their 30s already have disc degeneration visible on MRI — and that number only climbs with age. 📊 Research has found that bulging discs and herniations are common findings in people with no back pain whatsoever. 🤷

Here’s why: your spine isn’t just bones and discs. 🦴 Pain is influenced by your muscles, nervous system, stress levels 😓, sleep 😴, and movement habits 🏃 — none of which show up on imaging.

A scan is just a snapshot 📸. It doesn’t measure how you move or how your body is adapting 💪.

This is why we treat the person, not the picture. 🙋‍♂️📋

Two people can have the exact same MRI and have completely different experiences — one in chronic pain 😣, one symptom-free ✅. Imaging findings are often not your destiny. 🌟

If you’ve been told your scan “looks bad” and felt discouraged 😔 — there is hope 🙏. Come in and let’s assess you, not just your films.

04/22/2026

Imaging can be helpful—but it’s often overused. 🩻

Research shows:
📊 Many people with no pain have disc bulges, degeneration, etc.
🤔 Some people in pain have minimal findings

This is why we don’t treat just the images—we treat people. 🙌

Imaging is typically reserved for:
🚨 Trauma
🧠 Severe or worsening neurological symptoms
🚩 Red flags (infection, fracture, etc.)

💡More information isn’t always better—relevant information is.

Early movement patterns shape later development in profound ways. 🌱 The foundations built during infancy — how a baby holds their head, which direction they turn, how they bear weight — quietly influence the trajectory of their growing body.

If a baby consistently prefers one side, it can affect:
👀 How they explore their environment
    💪 How their muscles develop
⚖️ How forces are distributed through the body

Because infants are so adaptable, small changes early can have a big impact. ✨ This is precisely the window where gentle guidance matters most. That might include:
🛏️ Adjusting positioning — during sleep, feeding, and play can reduce the pull toward a preferred side
🧸 Encouraging movement toward the non-preferred side — Toys, faces, voices, and light positioned strategically can naturally draw a baby’s attention in new directions.
🤲 Supporting symmetry during play — Tummy time, midline reaching, and bilateral hand use all help

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s variability. 🔄 A body that’s learned to move in many directions is a body that’s building resilience.

If you’ve noticed your baby favoring one side — or you’re simply not sure what to look for — we can help. 👶💙 We’re trained to assess early movement patterns and guide families through small, meaningful changes that support healthy development. You don’t need to wait until something feels wrong.

If your baby always looks one way — don’t just wait it out. 👇

Every baby has preferences, but a strong, consistent one is worth paying attention to. 👀 It can affect more than you’d think — from how they feed 🍼 to how their head shape develops over time. 👶

⬇️ Signs to watch for:
✔️ Head consistently turns or tilts to one side ↩️
✔️ Flat spot developing on one area of the head 🫧
✔️ Trouble latching or feeding on one side 🍼
✔️ Fussiness or tension during tummy time 😣
✔️ Limited neck range of motion 🔄
✔️ Baby seems uncomfortable when turned the other way 😟

The earlier you catch it, generally, the easier it is to address. ⏰ You know your baby best — trust your gut and reach out if something feels off. 💛

Pregnancy changes how your body manages load. 🤰

As your center of mass shifts and tissues adapt, your system has to redistribute demand across:
✨ The hips
✨ The spine
✨ The abdominal wall
✨ The pelvic floor

Pain often shows up when that system becomes less efficient at sharing load. 💡

This is why two people at the same stage of pregnancy can feel completely different. 🙌

Helpful care focuses on:
🔍 How you move (not just where it hurts)
🔍 How your body is coordinating under load
🔍 What positions or activities increase vs decrease symptoms

Rather than assuming pain is unavoidable, we can ask: 👉 “What is this body struggling to adapt to right now?”
That question opens the door to meaningful change. 🚪✨

💬 If you’re navigating pregnancy-related pain or discomfort, you don’t have to just push through it. Book an appointment today and let’s work together to help your body adapt and feel its best. 👇

Back and pelvic pain during pregnancy are very common—but “common” and “untreatable” are not the same thing. 🤰

A lot of pregnancy discomfort comes down to how your body is managing load and pressure, not just the fact that you’re pregnant.

As your body changes, we often see:
🫁 Shifts in how the diaphragm, core, and pelvic floor coordinate
💪 Increased demand on the hips and low back
🚶‍♀️ Changes in movement strategies (sometimes helpful, sometimes not)

The goal isn’t to “fix alignment.” ✨ It’s to improve how your body is sharing load and adapting to change.
That might include:
🔄 Movement modifications
🏋️‍♀️ Strength and stability work
🙌 Manual therapy for symptom relief

Also important: knowing when pain is not typical and needs further evaluation. 🚩

You don’t have to just push through discomfort for 40(ish) weeks. There are options.

Pain is rarely about something being structurally “out of place.” 🦴❌

Instead, it often reflects how the body is:
⚖️ Managing load
😰 Responding to stress
🔄 Adapting to repeated movement patterns

This is why pain can:
📅 Come and go
📍 Change locations
❓ Occur without a clear injury

Care becomes more effective when we focus on:
💪 Improving capacity
🎯 Increasing tolerance
🔓 Restoring movement options

Are you experiencing joint pain or discomfort? 🙋 You don’t have to just live with it. Let us help you move better and feel better! 📞 Call our office to schedule an appointment and start your journey toward relief. ✨

The human body is not that fragile. 💪

The idea that joints are constantly “slipping out” and need to be put back into place doesn’t match what we understand about anatomy and pain. 🦴❌

Pain is influenced by:
🧠 Sensitivity of the nervous system
⚖️ Load tolerance
🔄 Movement patterns
😴 Stress, sleep, and more

Hands-on care can help—but not because something was literally “out.” 🙌

Changing this narrative matters. Because believing your body is fragile can actually make recovery harder. 🔑💚
