Not too long ago I was sitting in the same spot where you are sitting right now. I was struggling with weight, body issues, job dissatisfaction, and feeling unfulfilled in my life. I felt stuck and didn’t know what else to do. I felt like I had tried everything, different diets, workouts, jobs, classes etc. Nothing seemed to work, I wasn’t living the life I had envisioned for myself. For over 25 y
ears, I struggled with accepting my body, finding balance in life, and constantly searching for “more”, that missing “thing” that would bring me happiness. My turning point was a few months before I turned 32. I was back to 190lbs, dissatisfied with my body, my health, my job and my life. I was fed up with living a mundane existence and told myself this is the LAST time—enough was enough. I had to regain control of my health, quit yo-yo dieting FOR GOOD, and find my purpose in life. I needed to heal old wounds, re-connect with who I was and transform myself to get me to my happiest, most authentic life. It was on this journey that I found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I became a certified Holistic Health Coach. My training consisted of learning 100 different dietary theories from the leading nutrition, health and wellness experts such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Oz and many more. Not only did I learn about nutrition, I also learned on how to heal the whole person, looking at relationships, finances, career, spirituality, and other aspects of our lives that feed us but aren’t “food”. After going through my training and my own transformation, I created Almavida Health and Wellness LLC, to support and inspire others to change their lives so they too can be happy, healthy and living their most authentic lives. It is my intention to guide people back to their “Alma vida” or “soul life”, the place where we feel connected, healthy, happy, grateful and fulfilled in every aspect of life.
