G/J feeds and cares, giving meds, hygiene, monitoring for possible seizures, daily stretches and therapy exercises; and physical therapy appointments throughout the week.

Abby is a happy young teen who loves to be girly! She enjoys baking cupcakes and getting to eat chocolate frosting. She loves going for walks and using the swings at the adaptive park near her house. Her dog cooper loves to fetch toys and treats that Abby throws. She loves painting her nails and doing spa days. She’s a people person who enjoys being around everyone and being apart of the fun! She loves batting for miracle league in the summer and dancing to KidzBop songs and working hard at PT/OT. And to treat herself, she loves stopping by Starbucks to get whipped cream with mocha drizzle.

Abby’s cares include:
Brief changes/toileting
Showers
G-Tube feedings and cares
Vitals and GI assessments
ROM and stretches
Assisting Abby to use her Eye Gaze communication device

Sawyer is a 6 year old prankster that loves to laugh. He’s hard working and a joy to be with.

We are currently searching for part time nights. We are flexible on hours and days but we need someone to be diligent overnight watching for seizures.

Duties would include:
Fixing/filling g-tube overnight
Assisting with any overnight emesis
Monitoring oxygen when sick
Monitoring for seizures, responding and calling 911

Client Spotlight:

Caleb is a gentle, kind, smart young man that lives with his family in Hastings. He was born with a rare chromosomal deletion. He communicates with American Sign Language. He loves playing with his dogs, Lewy and Ivy. Caleb is in love with everything Disney and Oprah!! He enjoys reading books about animals and all things zoo related!

Some of his Cares include:

brief changing/toileting, vitals and assistance in ADL’s, urostomy wound cares, g-tube feedings and care, peritoneal dialysis catheter flushing and bandaging.

We would love to add a great Nurse to his team as soon as possible due to his recent surgery.

Available Hours are 24-32 hours a week. 8-hour shifts M, W, F, and 1 Saturday a month.

Shift hours 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 12pm-8pm. Flexible with what shift works for nurse.

$1000 bonus after 90 days

June 15-22, 2017 is the week we dedicate to our Aides who dedicate their lives to our clients! We cannot thank our wonderful employees enough for their hard work, compassion, and kindness. They do so much and, many times, are rewarded only with the comfort and reassurance they recognize in our clients. They work late nights and early mornings. They rearrange their lives to provide for our clients. And, they often work tirelessly to to provide superior care. We owe our appreciation to them today, this special week, and every other day. May 6th - 12th is Nurse Appreciation Week and we don't have to tell you how much we appreciate our nurses! Thanks to them and our aides we are able to provide such superior services to our clients. It's not just the charts they fill out or the procedures they perform, but most importantly the delicate care and attention they give to those they provide for. In a world so crazy as ours, they truly are care givers. With deepest of appreciation during this special week, we want to thank each and every one of our nurses!

The countdown is on! Less than 48 hours to Christmas! We want to to take the time to express our gratitude to our clients, employees, and their families. With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's important to slow down and remember the reason for the season. Our office will be closing at noon today and will remain closed through Monday. We will resume our regular business hours on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Warmest of Christmas wishes from our families to yours!

Happy Halloween from SHCN! Best wishes for safe and fun trick-or-treating tonight! Here are a few helpful tips and tricks to keep your Halloween fun from getting spooky:

#1 Keep costumes light simple. Extra accessories or heavy props can be unsafe.
#2 Stick with a group or trusted adult and plan your trick-or-treating route ahead of time. Only go in familar and well light areas.
#3 Avoid houses or business that don't look very welcoming. As much as we love Halloween, not everyone shares our excitement and we should respect their decisions.
