Hello FamilySearch Friends! We just realized that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are on the 4th Wednesday and 4th Thursday of the month, so we will be closed on those two days. Tomorrow night (Thursday, December 11) will be our last 3 hours open in 2025! 6PM to 9PM, and then not open again until Thursday, January 8th (2nd Thursday) 6PM-9PM, and then Wednesday, January 15 (2nd Wednesday) 9am-3pm. May the spirit of Christmas continue to the New Year, and remember that it's all about Family. Ian, Vicki, Zella, and Al.

Dear Friends - Although we will be open on Wednesday, November 26 during normal hours (9:00am until 3:00pm) the Center will be closed on the Thanksgiving Holiday. Everyone focus on family that day, and reflect upon those who came before us, share favorite memories. After all, it's all about families! Cheers, FSC Staff

Empty Nesters Family Home Evening
Tonight, July 14, 2025, at 7pm, there will be an opportunity to meet some of the people who volunteer at the FamilySearch Center. We will meet in the Relief Society classroom in the Stake Center. Please enter through the West entrance, pass the FamilySearch workrooms on your left, then turn right at the large painting straight ahead. A few brief presentations, then questions and answers.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news about our sister, Claudia Ruff, who passed away Friday, January 10th. Sister Ruff created this page, and was a wonderful resource in the Library for several years. She was the original "friend" of the FamilySearch Center, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Hello to actual "friends" of the FamilySearch Center. This is Ian, and we seem to have been "highjacked" by people and things who have nothing to do with family history and genealogy research. I've tried to clean things up, and will keep at it.
Our hours remain 9am-3pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, then also 6pm-9pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

The Lakeville FamilySearch Center will be CLOSED on November 22 and 23rd, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The GOOD NEWS is that we will be open on Wednesday, November 29th from 9am until 3pm! Also, we will be open November 30 (Thursday evening) from 6pm to 9pm.
Please let your friends know of the change for this month only!!!
December will return to 2nd and 4th Wednesdays (December 13th and 27th daytime hours) and 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings (December 14th and 28th) evening schedule.

Ian and Vicki McGregor are the new directors of the Lakeville Family History Center, open twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Zella Mirick and Al Kranz are wonderful volunteers, having served not only in the Lakeville Center but also in the Bloomington and Crystal buildings. Many of you know, appreciate, and love them, and the deep knowledge and experience they offer to our patrons.

While these weekday sessions allow for thorough and deep research, the middle of the day is just not possible for those at work or school.

We believe that adding additional weeknight opportunities will bless more lives. We have chosen to open and staff the FHC on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month, from 6pm to 9pm.

For those of you who want to plan your activities for the months of November and December, the staff of the Familly History Center has decided to keep their normal schedule. The FHC wll be open as usual on November 24, December 8, and December 22.

The Lakeville Family History Center is open on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. The Center is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As we go into the winter months, please be aware that if the weather and roads are bad, we will close the center.

Our staff is eager to see you again and to help you learn more about your ancestors.😊
