Yes — this took **12 weeks**.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴!

I did not start from zero.

I’ve spent **years building the foundation** that allowed this to happen quickly.

• solid skeletal muscle mass
• balanced strength in all my limbs and trunk
• decades of strength training skill
• the ability to handle heavy loads safely
• and zero confusion about nutrition

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀! (I didn't gain all this knowledge and apply it in just 12 weeks!!!!)

Most people walking into my gym do **not** have those things yet.

And that’s not a criticism — it’s simply reality.

It’s the difference between:

**Skiing a double black**
and
**making it down a green run without falling.**

Both people get to the bottom of the hill.

But the **skill, control, and effort required are completely different.**

The same is true with training.

A person who has spent years developing strength, movement quality, and nutritional awareness can change body composition quickly.

Someone starting without that foundation needs to build the system first.

That’s what coaching is for.

The goal isn’t to rush the process.

The goal is to learn the skills that make results repeatable for the rest of your life.

And yes — once that foundation is in place…

𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻.
P𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

Last weekend I went skiing and did what I always do — straight to the double blacks.

No warm-up runs.
Just straight to the steep stuff.

The first run was brutal.

My legs were screaming.
My skis felt unstable.
My turns felt sloppy.

At the bottom I caught myself thinking something I didn’t like:

Am I too old for this now?

But after a few calmer runs the truth became obvious.

It wasn’t age.

It was skill.

For years I’d relied on strength and fearlessness to get down the mountain.

Eventually brute force stops working.

And that’s exactly what I see with fitness.

Most adults don’t need more effort.

They’re missing the skill that makes everything work.

https://api.grow.pushpress.com/sp/614b9ef7b44Most people don’t need a lifetime overhaul.

They need a clear 12-week plan.

That’s enough time to:

• reset nutrition
• build strength habits
• improve body composition
• stabilize metabolism

From there the goal is maintenance, not endless dieting.

If you’re over 40 and feel like:

• dieting doesn’t work anymore
• exercise isn’t changing your body
• belly fat keeps creeping in

It’s probably not your effort.

It’s your strategy.

If you want to learn how the 12-week process works, send me a message that says:

“12 WEEKS.”

I’ll explain the approach.

This is a 12-week body composition phase.

Not starvation.
Not endless cardio.

Just structured training and nutrition.

Focus was simple:

✔ protein intake
✔ controlled calories
✔ strength training
✔ preserving skeletal muscle

The goal wasn’t losing weight.

The goal was improving composition.

Fat down.
Muscle preserved.

That’s what keeps metabolism healthy after 40.

And yes — this can happen in 12 weeks.
https://api.grow.pushpress.com/sp/6dba139d2c6
But only if the strategy is correct.

Low-carb
Fasting
HIIT cardio

And sometimes they even lose weight.

But here’s the hidden problem:

𝘼 𝙡𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙘𝙡𝙚.

Muscle drives metabolic rate.

Lose muscle → metabolism drops.

Now the body burns fewer calories all day long.

Which means the next time you diet…

It works even worse.

The goal 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀.
The goal should be 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹.

Fat down.
Muscle preserved.

That’s a completely different strategy. Check back tomorrow to see exactly what this looks like over a 12 week period.

Eat less.
Exercise more.
Add cardio.
Cut carbs.

But 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙧𝙙 starts happening.

You work harder…
…and get softer.

More belly fat.
Less muscle.
Slower metabolism.

That’s not a discipline problem.

It’s a 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺.

After 40, metabolism is largely driven by skeletal muscle mass.

If you diet aggressively or do too much cardio, you lose the exact tissue that keeps you lean.

So the cycle repeats.

Eat less → lose muscle → metabolism slows → fat gain accelerates.

There is a better strategy.

I’ll explain more this week.

After 20 years in the fitness industry, I’ve learned that sustainable training for the general population looks a lot like a one-room schoolhouse.

Everyone enters at a different level.

No one is left behind.

No one’s progress is held back.

In my “schoolhouse,” the rules are simple: show up, be open to learning, and show grace to yourself and others. The curriculum never changes: healthy sleep, consistent nutrition, and daily movement.

Quick fixes fail. Community + coaching work.
