*Vulnerable post*
I grew up as the oldest of three children and eventually a caregiver to my sweet mama who suffered for 44 years with chronic autoimmune disease. After a tireless fight, we sadly lost her in August of 2024. Making my bed was the only thing getting me through those hard days of transition without her. Even if I wasn't able to do anything else the rest of the day, I got to check that off my list and that brought me hope.
Over time, I was able to add more and more steps to my routine that helped me to take care of myself during the many waves of grief I faced - all because I had created the habit of making my bed. Those waves still hit hard especially with the holidays knocking at the door. So if you're going through a rough time or life transition and need someone to quite literally hold your hand, I'll be there. Let's create a healthy routine that acknowleges where you're currently at and meets you where you'd like to go.
