Please join us in celebrating Jacqueline Githehu, fondly known as Jackie, our February Employee of the Month!
Jackie was born and raised in Kenya and moved to the United States in 2022. Before joining The Oaks, she worked in three other facilities. She officially joined our team in January 2025, and we are grateful that she did!
What drew Jackie to The Oaks? She did her research. She checked the ratings, explored the website, read the reviews, and personally visited the facility before filling out an application form. She shared that she immediately felt a sense of safety and positivity and knew this was where she wanted to be.
Jackie's journey is inspiring. She began her career as a legal secretary in Kenya, later earning a degree in Sales and Marketing, where she learned the importance of setting goals. Today, she is pursuing her RN degree and expects to complete it within a year. In two years, she sees herself as a Nurse Practitioner, continuing to grow while making an even greater impact in healthcare.
Her goal each day is simple but powerful: to make residents happy. She goes above and beyond her role in making sure the care needs of the residents are met, including supporting the Activities Department by taking residents to group activities. She wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the residents.
When asked what sets The Oaks apart from other facilities, Jackie shared she feels safe and valued here. For her, a good day at work is when she can make residents and co-workers smile.
Ofcourse, like any workplace, there can be challenges. Jackie believes in keeping peace, maintaining professionalism, and focusing on her purpose. Her advice for those aspiring to be Employee of the Month? "Do your job first. Friendship will come later. Keep boundaries and stay focused."
Jackie highly recommends The Oaks to her friends, and in fact, some of them have already joined our team!
