• Avoid minimizing or spiritual bypassing
• Honor their pace and their boundaries

When most people hear betrayal trauma, they think infidelity — but it’s much broader. It includes any violation of trust within a relationship where safety is expected: infidelity, financial deceit, emotional abuse, and more.

During the holidays, the pressure to feel joyful, social, or forgiving can intensify symptoms like anxiety, hypervigilance, grief, and somatic stress. If this resonates, it’s not because you’re “too sensitive.” Your nervous system is responding to a real rupture in safety.
